Short-term scheduling of pipeless batch plants

Chemical Engineering Research and Design, 1997
Pipeless batch plants comprise a number of processing stations of varying functionality (e.g., filling, mixing, reacting and emptying stations). A number of mobile vessels are used to hold material while it is being processed at stations, or being transferred from one station to another.

Short-term environmental/economic hydrothermal scheduling

Electric Power Systems Research, 2014
Abstract This paper proposes a new technique based on lexicographic optimization and ɛ-constraint method to solve the combined economic emission scheduling problem of hydrothermal systems comprising several equality constraints as well as non-equality ones. The hydrothermal scheduling problem is modeled as a multi-objective problem with two objective

A short term production planning and scheduling model

Engineering Costs and Production Economics, 1989
Abstract An optimal decision making model is developed to assist the manufacturer to select among the potential customer orders, which orders to reject and which orders to accept and in what quantities such that the net operational profit during the planning time horizon will be maximized.

Efficiencies and objectives in short term hydro scheduling

2016 IEEE Power and Energy Society General Meeting (PESGM), 2016
In short term hydro scheduling and optimization in a pure hydro system, a viable objective function is to minimize the water drawdown from a long term reservoir, thereby utilizing the characteristics and shape of efficiency curves for individual units, waterways and stations.

Hopfield Lagrange for short-term hydrothermal scheduling

2005 IEEE Russia Power Tech, 2005
This paper proposes Hopfield Lagrange (HL) model for optimal scheduling of fixed head and variable head hydrothermal coordination. HL is a combination of Hopfield neural network and Lagrange function. Unlike Hopfield network, HL is not required to define an energy function and map the problem into the Hopfield neural network with connection conductance.

Short-term scheduling of reactive power controllers

IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 1995
A two-level approach is presented to solve the problem of 'optimal' short-term (one day) scheduling of reactive power controllers in this paper. The entire problem is decomposed into two levels: the master and the slave levels. The master level deals with minimization of the depreciation cost of compensators and EHV transformer taps in order to reduce ...

Improved PSO for short term hydrothermal scheduling

International Conference on Sustainable Energy and Intelligent Systems (SEISCON 2011), 2011
This paper addresses short-term scheduling of hydrothermal systems by using Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm. Particle Swarm Optimization is applied to determine the optimal hourly schedule of power generation in a hydrothermal power system.

Short-term scheduling of a pumped storage plant

IEE Proceedings C Generation, Transmission and Distribution, 1992
The short-term scheduling of a large, complex pumped storage plant is addressed. The corresponding problem is formulated as a mixedinteger nonlinear program where the prices of energy and spinning capacity are assumed known and where two kinds of constraints are considered: dynamic plant constraints, concerning the operation of several units and ...
