Optimal Short-Circuit Resilient Formulas

open access: yesJournal of the ACM, 2022
We consider fault-tolerant boolean formulas in which the output of a faulty gate is short-circuited to one of the gate’s inputs. A recent result by Kalai et al. [FOCS 2012] converts any boolean formula into a resilient formula of polynomial size that works correctly if less than 1/6 of the gates (on every input-to-output path) are faulty.

Active Reduction of Short-Circuit Current in Power Distribution Systems

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
In this paper, a new concept of short-circuit current (SCC) reduction for power distribution systems is presented and analyzed. Conventional fault current limiters (FCLs) are connected in series with a circuit breaker (CB) that is required to limit the ...

Analytical Optimal Currents for Multiphase PMSMs Under Fault Conditions and Saturation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
An original analytical expression is presented in this paper to obtain optimal currents minimizing the copper losses of a multi-phase Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) under fault conditions.

A Scheme of DC-side Short-circuit Protection for Bi-directional Converterin Urban Rail Traction Power Supply System

open access: yesKongzhi Yu Xinxi Jishu, 2021
Using bi-directional converters for traction power supply in urban rail transit, traditional PWM rectifiers cannot meet the requirement of DC feeder protection for 27 kA short-circuit current with 120 ms continuous time.

Characteristics of Short-Circuit Current in Distribution Network with Doubly-Fed Wind Power System

open access: yesShanghai Jiaotong Daxue xuebao, 2023
The doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) is connected to the distribution network as a distributed power source, which turns a radial single power supply system into a dual power supply system and changes the topology of the distribution network. When a

Predetermination of Currents and Field in Short-Circuit Voltage Operation for an Axial-Flux Permanent Magnet Machine [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Risk of irreversible magnet demagnetization during short-circuit fault is analyzed in case of an axial-flux dual-rotor machine, using a three-dimensional finite-element method (3D-FEM).

SHORT CIRCUIT OF THE VAS DEFERENS [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the American Medical Association, 1915
By short circuit of the vas I mean joining together the patent lumen of the vas with a section of the epididymis or testicle. Just a word regarding the anatomy of these parts in order to make the following clear. The testis is composed of an enormous number of much convoluted seminiferous tubules, which fill up the intervals between the septums. These
