Phytoextraction could be a potential management option for diffusely Cd-Zn-Pb-polluted agricultural land in Northeast Belgium. The use of high yielding crops with a sufficiently high metal accumulation is preferred as these are expected to both gradually

Electrical Conductivities of Conductors, Semiconductors, and Their Mixtures at Elevated Temperatures
This article presents a comprehensive review of temperature‐dependent electrical conductivity data for multiple material classes at elevated temperatures, highlighting a persistent conductivity gap between metals and semiconductors in the range of 102$\left(10\right)^{2}$– 107$\left(10\right)^{7}$ S/m. Metal–ceramic irregular metamaterials are proposed

Eucalyptus short-rotation coppice for solid fuel production [PDF]
Abstract Briquetting provides a homogenous product that has high density, and reduced transport and storage costs in the wood chips supply chain. Few studies evaluated briquettes from eucalypt short-rotation coppice (SRC) managed under tropical conditions and also its energy potential was not clearly defined.

Cephalopod‐inspired photonic microparticles with dynamic structural coloration are fabricated via confined self‐assembly of linear block copolymers into ellipsoids containing stacked lamellae. Embedded superparamagnetic nanoparticles enable rapid magnetic alignment, restoring vivid, angle‐dependent color.

Two pyridinium‐based ionic liquid templated hybrid manganese halides, (C4Py)2[MnCl4] and (C4Py)2[MnBr4], display similar bulk structures but show significantly different photoluminescence behaviors due to the bromine heavy‐atom effect. Their stable local Mn environments remain intact even in the molten state, allowing applications such as luminescence ...

The water permeability of amorphous carbon dots (CDs) is demonstrated by investigating their plasticization. Novel polyamide‐based and amorphous nanoparticles are synthesized by controlling their inner packing density. Water plasticization is evidenced by the decrease of the CDs glass transition temperature with increasing the hydration degree.

Positively Charged Polymer‐Brush MOFs for Large‐Area, Pressure‐Resistant Gas Separation Membranes
A universal POPA strategy enables positively charged polymer‐brush MOFs with self‐adaptive interfacial interlocking to resist aggregation under fast processing. This design ensures seamless dispersion within large‐area selective layers, achieving 1 m‐wide roll‐to‐roll fabrication of pressure‐resistant MMCMs with tunable CO2 separation performance ...

Effects of dark brooders and overhangs on free-range use and behaviour of slow-growing broilers
Broiler chickens often make limited use of the free-range area. Range use is influenced by type of shelter available. Range use may possibly be improved by a more gradual transition from the house to the range and by using dark brooders (secluded warm ...
