Echoes in AI: Quantifying Lack of Plot Diversity in LLM Outputs [PDF]
With rapid advances in large language models (LLMs), there has been an increasing application of LLMs in creative content ideation and generation. A critical question emerges: can current LLMs provide ideas that are diverse enough to truly bolster the collective creativity?

Tuning the Crystalline Phase Transition Temperature of 1T‐TaS2 via Surface Oxidation
The critical temperature of the 1T‐ to 2H‐TaS2 phase transition can be tuned via the surface oxidation process, which originates from the sulfur surface sublimation and its induced doping. This work provides a facile and effective method to tune the phase of the TMDs, toward the fabrication of the nanostructure based on the phase engineering for future

Is There a Chronotope of the Short Story?
The present article suggests a means to reconceptualize the chronotope in order to widen its application and rethink its generic relations to the individual text. Bakhtin singles out an overarching chronotope for every novelistic genre and subgenre, considered as historic essences.

Using Generative AI Personas Increases Collective Diversity in Human Ideation [PDF]
This study challenges the widely-reported tradeoff between generative AI's (GenAI) contribution to creative outcomes and decreased diversity of these outcomes. We modified the design of such a study, by Doshi and Hauser (2024), in which participants wrote short stories either aided or unaided by GenAI plot ideas[1].

BERTtime Stories: Investigating the Role of Synthetic Story Data in Language Pre-training [PDF]
We describe our contribution to the Strict and Strict-Small tracks of the 2nd iteration of the BabyLM Challenge. The shared task is centered around efficient pre-training given data constraints motivated by human development. In response, we study the effect of synthetic story data in language pre-training using TinyStories: a recently introduced ...

The present work is concerned with the fabrication of CO2 sensors based on MWCNTs/ZnO material, which is obtained by RF magnetron sputtering and electron‐beam deposition methods. The sensor exhibits highly sensitive and selective behavior, high repeatability, and temporal stability at low CO2 concentrations.
