Standardization of short-term load forecasting models

2012 9th International Conference on the European Energy Market, 2012
There has been a significant production of load forecasting models over the last 5 years. These models present a wide variety of techniques, most of them using novel artificial intelligence approaches. Load forecasting is a complex matter and it is the result of several processes that, depending on the database, may be of more or less importance ...

Adaptive Weather-Sensitive Short Term Load Forecast

IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 1987
This paper introduces an adaptive, weather sensitive, short term load forecast algorithm that has been developed for two South Carolina Power Systems: CEPCI (Central Electric Power Cooperatives, Inc., Central for short) and Combined System. The model is based on a State Space formulation specially tailored for this application.

Short Term Load Forecasting Based on Weather Load Models

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1987
Abstract A stochastic weather load model for on-line forecasting of hourly load demands with lead times of 1 to 168 hours is presented. The proposed model considers the effect of up to 3 weather variables. The multi-input (hourly weather variables) and single output (hourly loads) stochastic process is modeled as an Auto Regressive-Moving Average ...

An ADMM-LSTM framework for short-term load forecasting

Neural Networks, 2023
Accurate short-term load forecasting (STLF) is crucial for maintaining reliable and efficient operations within power systems. With the continuous increase in volume and variety of energy data provided by renewables, electric vehicles and other sources, long short-term memory (LSTM) has emerged as an attractive approach for STLF due to its ...

Short-term load forecasting software tool

2018 7th International Conference on Computers Communications and Control (ICCCC), 2018
A software tool developed in Matlab for short-term load forecasting (STLF) is presented. Different forecasting methods such as artificial neural networks, multiple linear regression, curve fitting have been integrated into a stand-alone application with a graphical user interface. Real power consumption data have been used.

Short term load forecasting by ANN

2009 IEEE Workshop on Hybrid Intelligent Models and Applications, 2009
Short-term load forecasting (STLF) accuracy is very important for the power system. This study explores the application of neural networks to study the design of short-term load forecasting Systems for electricity market of Iran. In this paper, two seasonal artificial neural networks (ANNs) are designed and compared; so that model 2 (hourly load ...

Recursive short-term load-forecasting algorithm

Proceedings of the Institution of Electrical Engineers, 1974
The problem of forecasting the integrated-load demand of an interconnected power system is studied. It is proposed that the harmonic-series model for the weekly load pattern be expressed in the state-variable form. This then permits the use of Kalman-filtering techniques, for load-prediction purposes.

Short Term Load Forecasting Using XGBoost

2019
For efficient use of smart grid, exact prediction about the in-future coming load is of great importance to the utility. In this proposed scheme initially we converted daily Australian energy market operator load data to weekly data time series. Furthermore, we used eXtreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost) for extracting features from the data.

Interactive short-Term Load Forecasting

1982
The general objective of planning in power system utilities is to ensure a secure and economic energy supply. The prediction of the load curve, usually for one or more days in advance provides the basis of the short-term operation planning.
