Short Range Precision Navigation and Tracking System

OCEANS '76, 1976
A precision ranging system, utilizing a phase-locked loop (PLL), has been developed for use in high-accuracy short-range navigation and tracking. Initial studies and laboratory experimentation indicate that an accuracy of 0.1 m is within feasibility limits.

The Dedicated Short-Range Vehicle Tracking

2010 IEEE 71st Vehicular Technology Conference, 2010
This paper describes the tracking of a vehicle by using a 3-dimensional positioning system, which is composed of two 2-dimensional Infrared (IR) signal source trackers. Once the 2D trackers detect the incident angles of the IR signal source, the 3D positioning system will locate the IR signal source.

Ultra-Short Baseline Acoustic Tracking System

Proceedings OCEANS '83, 1983
This paper describes an ultra-short baseline Sonar Tracking System that tracks cooperative point-source targets at ranges of up to 10,000 yards. The system operates in two basic modes: (1) Surface ship tracking a target (2) Surface ship tracking a fish which, in turn, tracks the target.
