Track formation models: A short review
Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section B: Beam Interactions with Materials and Atoms, 1984Abstract Two models of nuclear track formation in minerals, one due to Fleischer, Price and Walker, the other to Dartyge et al. are briefly described, and their respective drawbacks discussed. New experimental results, with implications on the modelling of the track behavior, on the measurement of the etch rate of 150 MeV/amu U ion tracks, and on the

Tracking Topic Trends for Short Texts
2017It is a critical task to infer discriminative and coherent topics from short texts. Furthermore, people not only want to know what kinds of topics can be extract from these short texts, but also desire to obtain the temporal dynamic evolution of these topics.

SHORT NOTE ON BALLISTIC TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES
Journal of Dynamics and ControlA summary of Lincoln Laboratory’s forty-plus-year history of inventing and using radar technology for the long-range detection and tracking of ballistic missiles, satellites, and planets can be found in this article. The AN/FPS-17 radar in Turkey, the Millstone and Haystack radars in Massachusetts, as well as the Ballistic Missile Early Warning System ...

Short-Term Memory-Based Object Tracking
2004In this paper, we propose a new tracking method that adapts itself to suddenly changing appearance. The proposed method is based on color-based particle filtering. A short-term memory model is introduced to handle the cases of sudden appearance changes, occlusion, disappearance and reappearance of tracked objects.

Effects of drafting during short-track speed skating
Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise, 1996Short-track speed skating involves pack-style racing where five to seven skaters may be on the ice at once. Since average speed for a 3000-m event may exceed 35 km.h-1, drafting may be beneficial. However, the short (111 m) oval track could limit effective drafting space, and high forces required in cornering may compromise potential benefits.

Direct Adaptive Rapid Tracking of Short Complex Trajectories
Journal of Dynamic Systems, Measurement, and Control, 1994A direct adaptive rapid tracking methodology for tracking complex trajectories in short-duration, linear, possibly slowly varying, and/or imprecisely known, industrial processes is proposed. The rapid tracking is accomplished by injecting a supplemental control signal to the input of the plant.

(Eye) tracking short-term memory over time
Aphasiology, 2012Background: Previous studies have produced conflicting findings concerning the role of short-term memory in syntactic comprehension. Aims: The study aimed to investigate whether eye-movement monitoring shows significant differences in critical sentences and in sentence-critical areas for patients with an impaired short-term memory compared to controls.

Visual Tracking: A Short Research Roadmap
2005A research roadmap to many of the best known, and most used, contributions to visual tracking is set out. The scope includes simple appearance models, active contours, spatiotemporal filtering and briefly points to important further topics in tracking.

Short-Term Motion Tracking Using Inexpensive Sensors
2015Current consumer electronics is equipped with various sensors, among which accelerometer, gyroscope, and magnetometer represent typical examples. In this paper, we study the possibility of using these low-cost sensors for 3D motion and orientation tracking.
