New features on yttria‐stabilized zirconia after exposure at 1500°C: Newly discovered pyramidal structures on an old material. After exposure at 1550°C on the cross section of YSZ new features, namely pyramidal structures are discovered. These structures grow with time, increase in numbers, appear as singularities, are often arranged in strings, and ...

Simulation of high-temperature shorteningof cylinders under different material creepequations
A subsidence of circular cylinders between rigid stamps at creep conditions is studied. There are three different material models. Appearance of barrel shape form is allowed (this decision is realized on the basis of package LS-DYNA). Calculations of all

Tuberculosis treatment-shortening
Tuberculosis (TB) presents a significant global health concern, with ∼10 million people developing TB and 1.3 million people dying from the disease each year. The standard treatment regimen for drug-susceptible TB was between 6 and 9 months until recently, presenting a prolonged therapeutic duration compared with other infectious diseases.

Interaction of Ladle Slag With Varying SiO2 Content and Recyclate‐Based MgO–C Refractories
Ladle slags (CaO/Al2O3 = 1) with 1–20 wt% SiO2 were investigated in contact with industrial MgO–C refractories fabricated from fresh magnesia and 50 wt% recyclate. The sessile drop method at 1600°C reveals intensive gas formation, delayed slag infiltration in recyclate‐based samples, and, under high‐SiO2 slag, formation of a dense MgAl2O4‐rich ...

Influence of Test Temperature and Test Frequency on Fatigue Life of Aluminum Alloy EN AW‐2618A
The influence of test temperature and test frequency on the fatigue life of EN AW‐2618A is investigated. High‐cycle fatigue tests are performed at different test temperatures and frequencies on the 1000 h/230°C overaged state. Both test parameters reduce fatigue life due to time‐dependent damage mechanisms.

Load-shortening behavior of an initially curved eccentrically loaded column [PDF]
To explore the feasibility of using buckled columns to provide a soft support system for simulating a free-free boundary condition in dynamic testing, the nonlinear load-shortening behavior of initially imperfect, eccentrically loaded slender columns is ...

In this work, a magnetic core‐shell catalyst (HOF‐on‐Fe3O4/ZIF‐67) is successfully synthesized, consisting of a metal–organic framework (ZIF‐67) with magnetic Fe3O4 as the core and a porous hydrogen‐bonded organic framework (HOF) as the shell. The catalyst efficiently activated peroxymonosulfate, resulting in rapid and effective removal of water ...

Fatty acids profile and physicochemical properties of various shortenings formulated with palm oil [PDF]
Shortenings are a mixture of one or more vegetable edible oil with partial hydrogenation in mixed with or without animal fat. In this study, three formulations of shortenings, with the best commercial and technological properties were prepared ...

This study uncovers the unexplored role of intermolecular interactions in multiphoton absorption in coordination polymers. By analyzing [Zn2tpda(DMA)2(DMF)0.3], it shows how the electronic coupling of the chromophores and confinement in the MOF enhance two‐and three‐photon absorption.
