The shoshonitic volcanic rocks at Hongliuxia: Pulses of the Altyn Tagh fault in Cretaceous?
Science in China Series D: Earth Sciences, 2001Two periods of magma activities, i.e. 106–112 Ma shoshonitic eruption and 82 Ma trachytic intrusion, are recognized at the intersection of the Altyn Tagh fault and the northern marginal fault of the Qilian terrane, northeast of the Tibetan Plateau, which were previously considered to be Quaternary magma activities.

The Paleoproterozoic terrane of the state of Bahia, Brazil, is characterized by an important mag-matic event that resulted in the generation of large and numerous syenite complexes; the terrane constitutes one of the largest syenite provinces in the world. It includes the Itiuba (1,800km2), Santanapolis (180 km2), Sao Felix (32 km2), and Anuri (70 km2)

Late Cainozoic Shoshonitic Lavas from Torres Strait, Papua and Queensland
Nature Physical Science, 1972JOPLIN1,2 has proposed the term shoshonite association to describe certain potash-rich lavas and intrusive rocks known from various parts of the world. These rocks are as alkalic as those of the soda-rich alkali-olivine basalt association, but their K2O : Na2O ratio is near or greater than 1.0 compared with 0.5 for the alkali basalts; magnesium and ...

The Kilmelford intrusives were emplaced in Dalradian metasediments and eruptives during the late stages of the Caledonian orogeny. The suite of rocks includes biotite–hornblende diorite and, to a minor extent, biotite–pyroxene and biotite–hornblende–pyroxene diorites, together with hornblende–biotite–quartz diorite, granodiorite ...

Primitive shoshonites from Fiji: Mineralogy, melt inclusions and geochemistry
2004Fundamental issues regarding the origin and evolution of primitive shoshonitic magmas are addressed using mineralogical, melt inclusion and geochemical data from Fijian shoshonites. Melt inclusions in olivine phenocrysts from primitive Fijian shoshonites are used to critically assess the issues relating to melt sampling by high Fo olivine phenocrysts ...
