Highly Efficient Platinum‐Free Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution From Low‐cost Conjugated Polymer Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Platinum‐free hydrogen photocatalysis is achieved using dibenzothiophene‐S,S‐sulfoxide‐based conjugated polymers, self‐assembled into nanoparticles via nanoprecipitation. Through side chain engineering and donor–acceptor design, these materials reach a hydrogen evolution rate of 209 mmol g⁻¹ h⁻¹. The structure–function insights presented here establish

Playing Hard with Si: Challenges and Opportunities for New Materials in Radiation Therapy Dosimetry

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Silicon has been a cornerstone material of radiation therapy dosimetry for many decades, providing somewhat unchallenged performance. However, there are caveats to its use, requiring complex designs and, often, correction factors to provide accurate measurements.

Iron‐Catalyzed Laser‐Induced Graphitization Enabling Current Collector‐Free Electrodes With Spatially Tunable Iron/Iron Oxide Phases

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Iron‐catalyzed laser‐induced graphitization (IC‐LIG) enables the eco‐efficient fabrication of current collector‐free carbon electrodes on renewable substrates, outperforming traditional methods. Tunable ink rheology supports spray coating, screen printing, and DIW of complex patterns, while laser post‐treatment allows spatial control of iron phases ...

The Bear Hug Test Improves Sensitivity Compared With the Belly Press Test for Identifying Subscapularis Tendon Tears, but Both Tests Miss the Majority of Partial Tears

open access: yesArthroscopy, Sports Medicine, and Rehabilitation
Purpose: To investigate the performance of the bear hug (BH) and belly press (BP) tests in diagnosing tears of the subscapularis (SSC). Methods: A retrospective review was conducted on prospectively maintained data on patients who underwent arthroscopic ...
