Impact of Disorder, Porosity, and Surface Chemistry of Salt Templated Carbons on Capacitance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Soft‐salt templating method allowed to obtain a series of tailored porous carbons for EDLCs. Neutral aqueous electrolytes enabled to reach 1.6 V. Linear dependence of ID/IG ratio vs. capacitance values has been proven. Active surface area related to carbon defects supported the Raman findings.

120 Cases of Shoulder Dislocation referred to Emergency Department during One Year; a Case Series Study

open access: yesطب اورژانس ایران, 2015
Shoulder dislocation is identified as displacement of humerus head from the glenoid cavity of scapula bone, which makes up about 50% of total joint dislocations.

Closed Reduction of Bilateral Posterior Shoulder Dislocation with Medium Impression Defect of the Humeral Head: A Case Report and Review of Its Treatment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Bilateral dislocation of the shoulder is a rare injury. The main causes are electrical shock, extreme trauma, and epilepsy. A 25-year-old athletic-body man had sustained bilateral shoulder pain and restricted external rotation following electrical shock ...

Defect Engineering in Semiconductor Photocatalysts: Enhancing Photocatalytic Activity for Green Energy Production

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, EarlyView.
By creating anion and cation vacancies, scientists fine‐tune semiconductor bandgaps and extend light absorption, boosting charge separation in photocatalysts. Surface defects enhance reactant adsorption and carrier transport, while controlled bulk defects curb recombination.

Toward Autonomous Self‐Healing in Soft Robotics: A Review and Perspective for Future Research

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
In this article, five different phases (damage detection, cleaning, damage closure, material healing, and healing assessment) are investigated to have an autonomous self‐healing at the system level with the focus on soft robotics. It delves into the importance of each phase, why and where they matter, and reviews relevant technologies that enable ...

Treatment of chronic anterior shoulder dislocation by open reduction and simultaneous Bankart lesion repair [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Background Untreated chronic shoulder dislocation eventually leads to functional disability and pain. Open reduction with different fixation methods have been introduced for most chronic shoulder dislocation.

Decreasing the Cost of Morphing in Adaptive Morphogenetic Robots

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Shape‐morphing propulsive limbs enhance locomotion across land‐to‐water transitions, but prior designs rely on thermally responsive components, coupling performance to environmental temperature. This study introduces a pressure‐responsive mechanism that reduces morphing energy costs, enables rapid transitions, and minimizes failure modes.

Can vacancies lubricate dislocation motion in aluminum? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
The interaction of vacancy with dislocations in Al is studied using the Semidiscrete Variational Peierls-Nabarro model with ab initio determined gamma surface. For the first time, we confirm theoretically the so-called vacancy lubrication effect on dislocation motion in Al, a discovery that can settle a long-standing controversy in dislocation theory ...

Revision of reversed shoulder arthroplasty : is a reoperation possible? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Introduction. As the number of reversed shoulder arthroplasty (RSA) procedures increases, the revision rate will also increase. In case of severe bone insufficiency, instability or infection of the primary RSA, revision to another RSA is preferable but ...
