Bilateral anterior shoulder dislocation

JAAPA, 2017
ABSTRACT Shoulders are the most common major joint to become disarticulated, and shoulder dislocation is a frequent patient presentation to the ED. Bilateral shoulder dislocations, however, are rare and typically caused by seizure activity or electrocution. Posterior disarticulation is most common following seizure activity.

Distance to Dislocation and Recurrent Shoulder Dislocation After Arthroscopic Bankart Repair: Rethinking the Glenoid Track Concept

American Journal of Sports Medicine, 2022
Background: The “distance to dislocation” (DTD) calculation has been proposed as 1 method to predict the risk of recurrent dislocation after arthroscopic Bankart repair for an “on-track” shoulder. Rates of recurrent dislocation at specific DTD values are

Arthroscopic Bankart Repair Versus Immobilization for First Episode of Anterior Shoulder Dislocation Before the Age of 25: A Randomized Controlled Trial

American Journal of Sports Medicine, 2021
Background: The risk of recurrence after the first episode of anterior shoulder dislocation is high with nonoperative treatment in younger patients. Purpose/Hypothesis: The aim of this study was to compare the results of arthroscopic Bankart repair and ...

Posterior Shoulder Dislocations and Fracture-Dislocations

The Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery, 2005
Posterior shoulder dislocations and fracture-dislocations are uncommon injuries that most often occur during seizures or as a result of high-energy trauma. Despite advances in imaging, they are frequently diagnosed late. Detection is facilitated by heightened clinical suspicion of the injury in high-risk individuals together with appropriate ...
