Women with gestational diabetes diagnosed by an elevated fasting ± one‐hour glucose concentration, compared with one‐hour alone, may have higher later diabetes risk, and their children greater perinatal complications and five‐year growth, supporting gestational diabetes subtyping for risk stratification.
