SHPOS: A Theoretical Guaranteed Accelerated Particle Optimization Sampling Method [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the Thirtieth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence, 2021
Recently, the Stochastic Particle Optimization Sampling (SPOS) method is proposed to solve the particle-collapsing pitfall of deterministic Particle Variational Inference methods by ultilizing the stochastic Overdamped Langevin dynamics to enhance exploration.

Superhydrophobic turbulent drag reduction as a function of surface grating parameters [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Despite the confirmation of slip flows and successful drag reduction (DR) in small-scaled laminar flows, the full impact of superhydrophobic (SHPo) DR remained questionable because of the sporadic and inconsistent experimental results in turbulent flows.

The NAGPRA Decision‐Making Process and Praxis: A Case Study of the New Mexico State University Museum

open access: yesMuseum Anthropology, Volume 49, Issue 1, Spring 2026.
ABSTRACT This article examined the decision‐making process and practice of a small academic museum as it strived to comply with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). Using the New Mexico State University Museum as a case study, it explores key questions related to NAGPRA compliance: How did the NMSU Museum determine that ...

Modification of Model Boats for Open Water Testing of Drag Reducing Surfaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
Superhydrophobic (SHPo) surfaces coated on the hulls of marine vessels are capable of passively producing drag reduction. This gives SHPo technology an exciting opportunity to dramatically reduce the fuel costs and pollutant emissions of large ships or ...

Brightness of Microtrench Superhydrophobic Surfaces and Visual Detection of Intermediate Wetting States. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
For a superhydrophobic (SHPo) surface under water, the dewetted or wetted states are easily distinguishable by the bright silvery plastron or lack of it, respectively.

Toward Long‐Lasting Slippery Surfaces for Condensation and Icephobicity: From Lubricant‐Infused to Liquid‐Like Surfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 12, Issue 24, December 22, 2025.
Schematic of two representative slippery surface: Lubricant‐infused surface (LIS) and liquid‐like surface (LLS) and its application in condensation and icephobic surface ABSTRACT Slippery surfaces that minimize contact line pinning and enable high droplet mobility have emerged as promising solutions for enhancing condensation and anti‐icing performance.

Scalable Conversion of Superhydrophobic Surfaces to Salvinia Surfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 12, Issue 24, December 22, 2025.
This article reports a scalable method to convert superhydrophobic surfaces into Salvinia surfaces by selectively coating polydopamine on the top surfaces of microstructures. The success is enabled by overcoming a previously unrecognized barrier unique to polydopamine coating on superhydrophobic surfaces.
