Detrital-zircon geochronology and provenance of the Ocloyic synorogenic clastic wedge, and Ordovician accretion of the Argentine Precordillera terrane [PDF]
The Precordillera terrane in northwestern Argentina is interpreted to be anexotic (Laurentian) continental fragment that was accreted to western Gondwanaduring the Ordovician. One prominent manifestation of the subductionand collision process is a Middle?

Marine Volcaniclastic Record of Early Arc Evolution in the Eastern Ritter Range Pendant, Central Sierra Nevada, California [PDF]
Marine volcaniclastic rocks in the Sierra Nevada preserve a critical record of silicic magmatism in the early Sierra Nevada volcanic arc, and this magmatic record provides precise minimum age constraints on subduction inception and tectonic evolution of ...

One diorite sheet, syntectonic with the dominant D2 foliation in the Guilleries massif, 50 km south of the Variscan Pyrenean axial zone, has provided an U–Pb age of 323.6 ± 2.8 Ma, one of the oldest in that part of the Variscan basement. This age seems to be the same as that of the sillimanite-grade syn-D2 metamorphism in the deepest part of the massif;

Barium isotopic composition of mainstream silicon carbides from Murchison : constraints for s-process nucleosynthesis in asymptotic giant branch stars [PDF]
We present barium, carbon, and silicon isotopic compositions of 38 acid-cleaned presolar SiC grains from Murchison. Comparison with previous data shows that acid washing is highly effective in removing barium contamination.

Synorogenic evolution of large-scale drainage patterns: Isotope paleohydrology of sequential Laramide basins [PDF]
In the past decade, we and others have compiled an extensive dataset of O, C and Sr isotope stratigraphies from sedimentary basins throughout the Paleogene North American Cordillera.

This study presents a UAV‐based framework that integrates deep learning‐based super‐resolution reconstruction and an enhanced YOLO detector to improve centimetre‐scale benthic organism monitoring. Using hermit crabs in Lake Hamana, a coastal lagoon in Japan, as a case study, the method substantially enhanced small‐object detection performance ...

The provenance of Borneo's enigmatic alluvial diamonds:A case study from Cempaka, SE Kalimantan [PDF]
Gem-quality diamonds have been found in several alluvial deposits across central and southern Borneo. Borneo has been a known source of diamonds for centuries, but the location of their primary igneous source remains enigmatic.

Crustal shortening, exhumation, and strain localization in a collisional orogen: the Bajo Pequeño Shear Zone, Sierra de Pie de Palo, Argentina [PDF]
The Bajo Pequeño Shear Zone (BPSZ) is a lower-crustal shear zone that records shortening and exhumation associated with the establishment of a new plate boundary, and its placement in a regional structural context suggests that local- to regional-scale ...

ABSTRACT Objectives This study compared the osteogenic mechanisms and preclinical efficacy of bone morphogenetic protein 9 (BMP9) and BMP2 in vitro and in a beagle peri‐implant defect model in vivo. Materials and Methods In vitro, MC3T3‐E1 preosteoblasts were treated with BMP2 or BMP9 to assess osteogenic gene expression (Col1, Runx2, Alp, Ocn) by real‐

ABSTRACT The Transbrasiliano‐Kandi‐4°50′ (TK4) shear zone in western Gondwana crosscuts South America and NW Africa for at least 6000 km. Despite its impressive size, the timing of the main episode of dextral ductile shearing is uncertain. We present detailed in situ multi‐mineral geochronology of mylonites from both Brazil and Algeria supporting that ...
