Variscan sourcing of Westphalian (Pennsylvanian) sandstones in the Canobie Coalfield, UK [PDF]
The zircon age spectrum in a sample from the Canonbie Bridge Sandstone Formation (Asturian) of southern Scotland contains two main peaks. One is Early Carboniferous in age (348– 318 Ma), and corresponds to the age of igneous activity during the ...

Palaeoenvironmental records along the eastern coast of Thailand remain sparse, with only a few studies attempting to reconstruct past climatic and environmental conditions. However, additional palaeoenvironmental, palaeoclimatic and sea‐level records are needed to improve our understanding of coastal evolution and local environmental changes.

Paragneiss Zircon Geochronology and Trace Element Geochemistry, North Qaidam HP/UHP Terrane, Western China [PDF]
In the southeastern part of the North Qaidam terrane, near Dulan, paragneiss hosts minor peridotite and UHP eclogite. Zircon geochronology and trace element geochemistry of three paragneiss samples (located within a ∼3 km transect) indicates that ...

Peixe Zircon as a Quality Control Reference Material in U‐Pb Geochronology by LA‐ICP‐MS
Key Points Peixe#0 zircon was characterised for U‐Pb geochronology using CA‐ID‐TIMS, SIMS and a long‐term LA‐ICP‐MS data set. The consistent results establish Peixe#0 as a reference material for U‐Pb quality control. Trace element heterogeneity requires careful, CL‐guided spot selection.

Tithonian age of dinosaur fossils in central Patagonian, Chile: U–Pb SHRIMP geochronology
Three Tithonian concordant U–Pb SHRIMP zircon ages of 148.7 ± 1.4, 147.9 ± 1.5 and 147.0 ± 1.0 from tuffs intercalated in a clastic sedimentary succession with exceptional dinosaur bones including the new taxon Chilesaurus diegosuarezi gen. et sp. nov. exposed in central Chilean Patagonia (ca. 46°30′S) are reported herein.

Allanite micro-geochronology: A LA-ICP-MS and SHRIMP U–Th–Pb study
The accessory mineral allanite occurs in a wide range of igneous and metamorphic rocks and contains appreciable amounts of trace elements including the REEs, Sr, Th and U. The high degree of compositional substitution and the variable incorporation of common Pb into the allanite crystal structure, however, have limited its use for U–Th–Pb dating ...
