Special ridge-type estimator: Simulation and application to chemical data

open access: yesAIP Advances
This study delves into regularization techniques, such as ridge regression, Liu estimator, and Kibria–Lukman estimator, as alternatives to the maximum likelihood method for addressing multicollinearity in beta regression models.

Bayes Shrinkage Estimation of the Parameter of Rayleigh Distribution for Progressive Type-II Censored Data

open access: yesAustrian Journal of Statistics, 2015
This paper derives Bayes shrinkage estimator of Rayleigh parameter and its associated risk based on conjugate prior under the assumption of general entropy loss function for progressive type-II censored data. Risk function of maximum likelihood estimate,

Optimizing Post Friction Stir Welding Heat Treatment in Dissimilar Friction Stir Welded 6061/AlSi10MgMn Joints for Electrical Vehicle Battery Housing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Microstructural evolution and hardness optimization along the cross‐section of friction stir welded AA6061/AlSi10MgMn joints, for electric vehicle battery housings, were investigated. Postweld aging between 170°C and 220°C enhances hardness uniformity within the nugget zone.

An Efficient Single Stage Shrinkage Estimator for the Scale parameter of Inverted Gamma Distribution

open access: yesIbn Al-Haitham Journal for Pure and Applied Sciences, 2017
The present  paper agrees  with estimation of scale parameter θ of the Inverted Gamma (IG) Distribution when the shape parameter α is known (α=1), bypreliminarytestsinglestage shrinkage estimators using  suitable  shrinkage weight factor and region.

Shrinkage Estimation in Multilevel Normal Models

open access: yesStatistical Science, 2012
This review traces the evolution of theory that started when Charles Stein in 1955 [In Proc. 3rd Berkeley Sympos. Math. Statist. Probab. I (1956) 197--206, Univ. California Press] showed that using each separate sample mean from $k\ge3$ Normal populations to estimate its own population mean $ _i$ can be improved upon uniformly for every possible $ =(

Advancing Research on Biomaterials and Biological Materials with Scanning Electron Microscopy under Environmental and Low Vacuum Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Herein, environmental scanning electron microscopy (ESEM) is discussed as a powerful extension of conventional SEM for life sciences. By combining high‐resolution imaging with variable pressure and humidity, ESEM allows the analysis of untreated biological materials, supports in situ monitoring of hydration‐driven changes, and advances the functional ...

Rheocasting versus Die Casting: An Insight into the Low‐Cycle Fatigue Behavior of AlSi7Mg0.6

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The study compares rheocast lightweight components with high‐pressure die cast materials regarding microstructure and fatigue behavior. Rheocast process offers higher efficiency due to lower casting temperatures. Despite some microstructural differences, both processes show similar strengths (yield strength 125 MPa, tensile strength 240 MPa).

Minimax Shrunken Technique for Estimate Burr X Distribution Shape Parameter

open access: yesIbn Al-Haitham Journal for Pure and Applied Sciences, 2018
The present paper concern with minimax shrinkage estimator technique in order to estimate Burr X distribution shape parameter, when prior information about the real shape obtainable as original estimate while known scale parameter.
