Compatibility of Methacrylate Based Resins Controls Interfacial Failure and Toughness in 3D‐Printed Multimaterial Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work shows that the mechanical performance of multimaterial digital light processing (DLP) printed thermoset composites is governed by resin compatibility and interfacial design rather than spatial patterning alone. Brittle and ductile resin combinations produced premature interfacial failure, while graded interfaces and mechanically compatible ...

Post-l1-penalized estimators in high-dimensional linear regression models [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper we study post-penalized estimators which apply ordinary, unpenalized linear regression to the model selected by first-step penalized estimators, typically LASSO. It is well known that LASSO can estimate the regression function at nearly the

Shrinkage Approaches for Ridge-Type Estimators Under Multicollinearity

open access: yesMathematics
Multicollinearity is a common issue in regression analyses that occurs when some predictor variables are highly correlated, leading to unstable least squares estimates of model parameters.

Defect Evolution and Mechanical Performance of Fused Filament Fabrication‐Manufactured 17‐4PH Stainless Steel Revealed by X‐Ray Computed Tomography

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
X‐ray computed tomography reveals how process‐induced defects evolve from green to sintered states in Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF)‐manufactured 17‐4PH stainless steel. Internal porosity, weakest cross‐sections, and fracture locations show strong correlation with tensile performance, demonstrating the potential of computed tomography (CT)‐based ...

Calibration of shrinkage estimators for portfolio optimization [PDF]

open access: yes
Shrinkage estimators is an area widely studied in statistics. In this paper, we contemplate the role of shrinkage estimators on the construction of the investor's portfolio.

Improving Confidence Interval Estimation in Logistic Regression with Multicollinear Predictors: A Comparative Study of Shrinkage Estimators and Application to Prostate Cancer Data

open access: yesStats
In logistic regression with finite binary samples and multicollinear predictors, the maximum likelihood estimator often results in overfitting and high mean squared error (MSE).

Human Gut Bacteria and Lipidic Nanoparticles: Particle Composition Predicts Structural Transformation and Bacterial Biocompatibility

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Lipidic nanoparticles (LNPs) were incubated with 21 gut bacteria frequently associated with the human microbiome. SAXS revealed that ∼75% of tested species induced structural transformations in monoolein LNPs, whereas phytantriol and phospholipid formulations remained unaffected.

Double Shrinkage Estimators in the GMANOVA Model

open access: yes, 1996
In the GMANOVA model or equivalent growth curve model, shrinkage effects on the MLE (maximum likelihood estimator) are considered under an invariant risk matrix.
