Different Approaches on Stochastic Reachability as an Optimal Stopping Problem [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Reachability analysis is the core of model checking of time systems. For stochastic hybrid systems, this safety verification method is very little supported mainly because of complexity and difficulty of the associated mathematical problems.

Predictors of Hospital Admission Following Emergency Department Presentation for Falls Among Older Adults: A Retrospective Analysis

open access: yesAustralasian Journal on Ageing, Volume 45, Issue 2, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective To identify demographic, clinical and injury‐related factors independently associated with hospital admission among older adults presenting to the emergency department (ED) after a fall. Methods We conducted a retrospective chart review of electronic medical records for 574 patients aged 65 years and older who presented to the ED of ...

Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction: diagnostic value of HFA-PEFF score, H₂FPEF score, and the diastolic stress echocardiography

open access: yesCardiology Journal
BACKGROUND: The aim of our study was to compare 3 diagnostic pathways: diastolic stress echocardiography (DSE) based on the ASE/EACVI 2016 guidelines, the 2018 H₂FPEF score, and the 2019 HFA-PEFF algorithm, in patients suspected of heart failure with ...

Ubiquitous Antiparallel Domains in 2D Hexagonal Boron Nitride Uncovered by Interferometric Nonlinear Optical Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 25, 4 May 2026.
Interferometric second‐harmonic generation (SHG) imaging reveals the ubiquitous formation of antiparallel domains in CVD‐grown 2D hexagonal boron nitride. By resolving lattice orientation and SHG phase, hidden domain structures and disorder become visible over large areas. The SHG intensity quantitatively tracks crystalline quality across growth routes,

Humid‐Air Condensation Heat Transfer on Hierarchical Structured Superhydrophobic Graphite Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 13, Issue 9, 5 May 2026.
Humid‐air condensation on graphite composites shows that making a surface superhydrophobic is not sufficient to enhance heat transfer. A hierarchical CuO/lauric‐acid coating yields spherical droplets but promotes Wenzel‐type pinning and adds effective thermal resistance under operation.

Clot Composition Profiling in Large Vessel Occlusion Stroke Via Radiomics

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, Volume 99, Issue 5, Page 1179-1188, May 2026.
Objective Clot composition may offer insights into the mechanism of ischemic stroke. Radiomics, a noninvasive imaging technique, enables tissue characterization through radiomic features (RFs). We aimed to evaluate clot composition using radiomics on non‐contrast computed tomography (NCCT).

How to Better Manage Insomnia in French Cancer Patients With a Guided Internet‐Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy? The Sleep‐4‐All 2.0 Real World Multicenter Single‐Arm Interventional Study

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Internet‐Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (ICBT‐I) can be leveraged to facilitate access to CBT in oncology. Nevertheless, adherence to self‐guided ICBT remains low (50%–60%). The Sleep‐4‐All‐2.0 study combined an ICBT‐I (Insomnet) with phone‐based guidance provided by a CBT psychologist.

Anxiolytic and Memory Protective Effects of Withanolide D Isolated From Acnistus arborescens in Adult Zebrafish

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 5, May 2026.
Withanolide D Exhibits Anxiolytic and Memory‐Protective Effects. ABSTRACT This study evaluated the anxiolytic and memory‐protective effects of withanolide D in adult zebrafish (Danio rerio). The compound was administered at doses of 4, 20, and 40 mg/kg and showed no signs of toxicity after 96 h of observation at any of the doses tested.
