Who cares? The legal (non)recognition of caregiving by single and childfree aunts in Taiwan
Abstract Aunts remain the “forgotten kin” in family and kinship care studies, which largely center on parenthood and coupledom. Existing literature tends to subsume them under the broad category of extended family members, devoting scant scholarly attention to aunthood as a distinct category or to the relationship between aunthood and the law.

Microglia, the brain's immune cells, change their metabolism depending on whether they are fighting infection or promoting healing. This study shows that during inflammation, microglia increase a molecule called itaconate, which helps reduce harmful stress in the brain while still allowing an immune response.

Activating transcription factor 6 (ATF6) in liver endothelial cells is upregulated and activated following the extended hepatectomy in both humans and rodents. ATF6 deficiency or pharmacological inhibition of ATF6 leads to severe endothelial inflammation in mice and HUVECs.

In this study, a novel cationic peptide, IW is designed and synthesized, with a tandem‐repeat sequence demonstrating potent activities against a broad spectrum of clinically relevant Carbapenem‐resistant Enterobacteriaceae in both the planktonic and biofilm states. IW is then formulated with P407 to form IW‐P407 colloids.
