Comparing the Indoor and Solar Performance of Light‐Concentrating Waveguide‐Encoded Lattice Slim Films

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
We present a non‐invasive solution to address energy losses associated with Si‐photovoltaic devices. Radially distributed waveguide‐encoded lattices (RDWELs) serve as a light‐collecting coating on the PV cell. The radial array of cylindrical waveguides in the RDWELs enables seamless, panoramic (= 74.5°) light collection, resulting in relative ...

Predicting solar cell efficiencies using historical data from a manufacturing process

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Abstract The solar cell manufacturing data of a passivated emitter and rear cell solar cell manufacturing plant was studied to assess the effects of tool usage and the processing time spent on each tool on the solar cell efficiency. Since manufacturing processes involve several steps with multiple tools, tracing their quality parameters back to the ...

Single GAF Domain Phytochrome Exhibits a pH‐Dependent Shunt on the Millisecond Timescale

open access: yesChemPhysChem, Volume 26, Issue 6, March 15, 2025.
During their light‐induced photocycle, phytochromes can engage in a thermal reversion back to the initially excited state, denoted as a shunt. This study investigates a pH‐dependent shunt transition in the Pfr state of the All2699g1 phytochrome from Nostoc punctiforme using UV/Vis laser flash photolysis and kinetic modeling. The findings suggest a keto‐

Site‐Selective Fluorination of Bathocuproine Derivatives for Enhanced Performance and Stability in Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesChemSusChem, EarlyView.
Two fluorinated bathocuproine (BCP) derivatives, BCP‐m2F and BCP‐m4F, are developed beyond the reported BCP and BCP‐m1. Fluorination enables tuning of electronic structure, dipole orientation, and interfacial properties. BCP‐m4F forms uniform, conductive, and water‐repelling films superior to BCP‐m2F.
