Use of Mutual Coupling to Decrease Parasitic Inductance of Shunt Capacitor Filters [PDF]
In this paper, we propose and study several new designs of a shunt capacitor filter with two surface-mount technology capacitors. These designs make use of mutual inductance effects to increase the attenuation provided by the filter in the range of high ...

Arachnoid cyst: adversity ans plasticity [PDF]
We report four cases of surgically treated intracranial arachnoid cysts, one with cyst-peritoneal shunt and three with craniotomy and arachnoid membrane resection. Their classification and etiopathogeny are discussed, and especially the different methods

Platypnea-orthodeoxia: Patent foramen ovale unmasked by pulmonary emboli
This report describes an 84 year old woman who presented with breathlessness from platypnea-orthodeoxia. This was due to a distortion of a patent foramen ovale by lower thoracic vertebral fractures which allowed a right-to-left intracardiac shunt.

Reduced leakage current in Josephson tunnel junctions with codeposited barriers
Josephson junctions were fabricated using two different methods of barrier formation. The trilayers employed were Nb/Al-AlOx/Nb on sapphire, where the first two layers were epitaxial.

Therapeutic Portacaval Anastomosis: To Shunt or Not to Shunt
The final report of the Boston Inter-Hospital Liver Group (BILG) study of therapeutic portacaval shunts in this issue of Gastroenterology1 is another giant step for medicine in determining the rightful role of portacaval anastomosis. It is also an appropriate opportunity for an editorial admirer of BILG to praise its work and to try to put it into ...

Design of Dual-band Branch-Line Coupler Based on Shunt Open-Circuit DCRLH Cells [PDF]
In this article, the shunt open-circuit dual composite right/left-handed (DCRLH) cell is initially proposed and one dual-band branch-line coupler based on the proposed cells is designed.
