Model Predictive Control of Four-Leg Three-Level Flying Capacitor Converter: Influence of Model Parameter Mismatch

open access: yesPower Electronics and Drives, 2018
This paper presents a control method for a four-leg three-level flying capacitor converter (FCC) operating as a shunt active power filter (SAPF), based on model predictive control with finite number of control states (FS-MPC).

Analysis of influence of a novel inductive fault current limiter on the circuit breaker in 500 kV power system

open access: yesHigh Voltage, 2021
A contribution to the engineering application of a proposed 500 kV fault current limiter (FCL) is presented. A new type of FCL composed of a highly coupled split reactor (HCSR) and fast switches is proposed.

Millimeter-Wave Lumped Element Superconducting Bandpass Filters for Multi-Color Imaging [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The opacity due to water vapor in the Earth's atmosphere obscures portions of the sub-THz spectrum (mm/sub-mm wavelengths) to ground based astronomical observation.

Use of Mutual Coupling to Decrease Parasitic Inductance of Shunt Capacitor Filters [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
In this paper, we propose and study several new designs of a shunt capacitor filter with two surface-mount technology capacitors. These designs make use of mutual inductance effects to increase the attenuation provided by the filter in the range of high ...

Suppression of Photo‐Mediated Traps in Integrated Organic Photovoltaic–Photodetector Devices via N‐Type Self‐Assembly‐Driven Interfacial Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Conventional unstable electron transport layers (ETLs) limit self‐powered organic sensors. This work resolves this by developing a n‐type self‐assembled monolayer (SAM), “3‐PAPh”. This SAM forms a chemically stable and structurally ordered interface that fundamentally suppresses defect formation.

Stability of Interconnected DC Converters

open access: yes, 2015
This paper addresses stability issues of DC networks with constant power loads (CPL). Common DC networks, such as automotive electrical systems and DC microgrids, typically have a step-up/down converter connected in one side to the main bus and, on the ...

Pixelation‐Free, Monolithic Iontronic Pressure Sensors Enabling Large‐Area Simultaneous Pressure and Position Recognition via Machine Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A pixelation‐free, monolithic iontronic pressure sensor enables simultaneous pressure and position sensing over large areas. AC‐driven ion release generates spatially varying impedance pathways depending on the pressure. Machine learning algorithms effectively decouple overlapping pressure–position signals from the multichannel outputs, achieving high ...
