Treatment of Cerebrospinal Fluid Shunt Infections with Medical Therapy Alone
Neurosurgery, 1982Abstract Eight of 48 patients with shunt infections were treated with antibiotic therapy only. Seven of the 8 were cured and remained infection-free for at least 1 year. Six of the 7 patients had developed infection within 2 weeks of shunt insertion or revision.
