Application of γ-aminobutyric acid induces disease resistance in apples through regulation of polyamine metabolism, GABA shunt and reactive oxygen species metabolism

Scientia Horticulturae, 2022
Apples were treated with γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) to investigate its effect on blue mold, reactive oxygen species (ROS) metabolism and GABA shunt. The results showed that GABA significantly inhibit blue mold of apples. Further studies demonstrated that

Exogenous GABA improves the resistance of apple seedlings to long-term drought stress by enhancing GABA shunt and secondary cell wall biosynthesis.

Tree Physiology, 2022
Drought stress is an important factor limiting apple production. γ-Aminobutyric acid (GABA) exists widely in plants and participates in the response to abiotic stress as a metabolite or signaling molecule.

Resistance Within Hemodialysis Shunts Predicts Patency

Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, 2006
The authors examined the relationship between patency after thrombectomy of clotted dialysis grafts and intraoperative measurements of flow (Q), pressure gradient (PGR), and longitudinal resistance (RL). Eighteen thrombosed arteriovenous (AV) grafts underwent 21 thrombectomies.

Resistively shunted Josephson tunnel junctions

Solid State Communications, 1978
Abstract SIS tunnel junctions have externally been shunted by a thin metallic film. It is shown that such devices exhibit radiation induced steps as point contacts or microbridges. This result agrees qualitatively with the commonly used lumped circuit model of Josephson junctions.

Quantitative Estimation of Shunt Resistance in Crystalline Silicon Photovoltaic Modules by Electroluminescence Imaging

IEEE Journal of Photovoltaics, 2019
Ohmic shunts in crystalline silicon (c-Si) solar cells and modules are of critical concern as these affect the open-circuit voltage, fill factor, and the net output power.

Effect of series and shunt resistance on the photovoltaic properties of solution-processed zinc oxide nanowire based CZTS solar cell in superstrate configuration

Materials Science in Semiconductor Processing, 2019
Here we report the chemical synthesis of a hetero-junction solar cell in superstrate configuration using nanocrystalline p-type Cu2ZnSnS4 (CZTS) as absorber layer, vertically aligned n-type ZnO nanowire array as window layer and very thin ZnS as buffer ...

Flutter control using resistively shunted piezoceramics

The Aeronautical Journal, 2010
AbstractThis paper investigates the feasibility of flutter control using resistively shunted piezoceramics. 2D aerofoil model is elastically restrained in heave and pitch by a set of leaf springs modeled as Bernoulli-Euler beams. The piezoceramic transducers are bonded to the leaf springs.

The effect of solar cell shunt resistance change on the bus voltage ripple in spacecraft power system

Microelectronics and reliability, 2018
The reliability of the solar array, being the primary energy source, is a key factor that may affect the operation of the spacecraft. The equivalent internal series and shunt resistance play a vital role in health monitoring of solar cells in the ...

Characterisation of the Shunt Resistance due to Potential Induced Degradation (PID) in Crystalline Solar Cells

IEEE World Conference on Photovoltaic Energy Conference, 2018
Different solutions have been proposed for the detection of potential induced degradation (PID), however, none of them has been proven reliable and cost effective so far.

Resistive Shunt On-line Impedance Analyzer

2016 International Symposium on Power Line Communications and its Applications (ISPLC), 2016
This paper describes a new low cost instrument to accurately measure power line impedances on-line. Computer simulation is presented, which shows that the fundamental accuracy of the Resistive Shunt On-line Impedance Analyzer is better than 0.1% from 0.5 Ω to 50 kΩ and from 1 kHz to 10 MHz. Hardware measurements of a wide range of resistors and on-line
