[Peritovenous shunt (Denver Shunt) in therapy resistant ascites in childhood].

Monatsschrift Kinderheilkunde : Organ der Deutschen Gesellschaft fur Kinderheilkunde, 1983
This paper describes a 14 year old girl with massive, intractable ascites. After implantation of a peritoneovenous shunting-system (Denver-Shunt) the ascites completely disappeared and the girl's state of health improved markedly. Although the surgical procedure is simple many problems may arise postoperatively which demand intensive monitoring.

Cell shunt resistance and PV module ratings

AIP Conference Proceedings, 1996
I discuss the impact that shunt resistance and recombination losses can have on module energy ratings. Shunt resistances of cells in a two‐terminal, series‐connected photovoltaic module can affect module power output as well as indicate flawed manufacturing processes and reliability problems.

[Shunt method of determining vascular resistance].

Biulleten' eksperimental'noi biologii i meditsiny, 1981
A method is suggested for determining vascular resistance from the blood flow in the test vascular bed and in the shunt tube that is invariable in length and diameter, paralleled to this bed. In conformity with Hagen-Poiselles's equations, the viscosity component dependent on the composition and the temperature of blood should be omitted in the results

An RC notch filter with distributed shunt resistance

Proceedings of the IEEE, 1973
The effect of the distributed nature of the shunt resistor in the distributed RC notch filter networks is investigated, and it is shown that the distributed capacitance associated with the shunt resistor can drastically shift the location of the optimum notch frequency.

Performance of dc SQUIDs with resistively shunted inductance

Applied Physics Letters, 1989
We have fabricated and characterized the noise performance of well-coupled Nb-Pb alloy edge junction dc superconducting quantum interference devices (SQUIDs) with a resistively shunted inductance. The extra damping resistor removes the resonances in the current-voltage characteristics resulting in a very low value of the extrinsic energy sensitivity in

Simulated shunts as dc low-resistance travelling standards

2015 IEEE 1st International Forum on Research and Technologies for Society and Industry Leveraging a better tomorrow (RTSI), 2015
We introduce a device that simulates a low-valued resistance standard (shunt) that can be employed as a metrology-grade travelling standard, for the traceability transfer of dc resistance in the low range, and in laboratory intercomparisons. The device is composed of a direct-current current comparator (DCCT) and a mid-range resistance standard.

The Measurement Challenge of DC Resistance Shunts

NCSL International Workshop & Symposium Conference Proceedings 2012, 2012
During the 2011 NCSLI Workshop & Symposium the initial data for an NCSLI shunt inter-laboratory comparison (ILC) was presented and the data clearly showed the existence of measurement pitfalls in the field of dc shunts. The sharing of this data led to an examination of dc shunt measurements at the Canadian National Measurement Institute (NMI).In ...

Perturbation theory for a resistivity shunted Josephson element

Journal of Applied Physics, 1973
We present a systematic perturbation theory, extendable in principle to all orders of magnitude, for the solution of the equations of motion of an ideal Josephson element shunted by a resistance and driven by a dc current source and a small time-dependent source.

Single shunt fault diagnosis in a resistive ladder

IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 1981
The problem of locating a single shunt fault in a uniform resistive ladder network is considered. A simple method, based on resistance measurements is proposed for the case where the total number of nodes is small and all of them are accessible. Two strategies are discussed for reducing the number of measurements when the number of nodes is large but ...
