Aerodynamic viscous effects on a new space shuttle vehicle
Journal of Spacecraft and Rockets, 1970Use of a sensitivity analysis of a performance index $ has shown that it may be difficult to determine aerodynamic coefficients accurately from experimental data because of the insensitivity of the solution to variations in these parameters. In addition, techniques which obtain coefficient values should be carefully evaluated to make certain that they ...

Probing Polysulfide Shuttle Effect in the Li-S Battery
ECS Meeting Abstracts, 2016The lithium-sulfur battery is a strong contender among the beyond Li-ion chemistries due to its superior capacity and energy density as compared to the conventional Li-ion cells. However, experimental evidences suggest that even the first discharge capacity is appreciably lower than the theoretical limit.

Effects of surface roughness on two Shuttle Orbiter models
Journal of Aircraft, 1988The study addressed the effects of roughness on longitudinal and lateral stability and performance. In addition, asymmetric flow separation (or attachment) due to roughness, vehicle pitch rate, or large, rapid elevon motion was studied. Tests were made using 0.01875and 0.012-scale Shuttle Orbiter models over a Mach number range from 0.20 to 6.0 in wind

Facilitation of shuttle-box avoidance by the platform method: Temporal effects
Physiology & Behavior, 1991Two experiments were carried out in order to 1) replicate a previous finding according to which the treatment on large platforms (commonly used as control for the stress induced by smaller paradoxical sleep deprivation platforms) can facilitate the acquisition and long-term retention (LTR) of a distributed shuttle-box avoidance in rats, and 2) further ...

Effect of periodic inflow on speed-controlled shuttle bus
Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 2017Abstract We investigate the dynamic behavior of a shuttle bus controlled the speed when passengers come periodically at the origin. We propose the nonlinear-map model for the dynamics of the speed-controlled bus with the periodic inflow. The bus schedule is closely connected to the motion.

Speed Effect on Lower Extremity Biomechanics during Shuttle Run
2009Shuttle run, or side-step cutting, is a common warm-up exercise for athletes. Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury was reported to occur during the single-limb support landing, such as shuttle run. There is little attention about the speed effect on lower extremity (L/E) biomechanics during shuttle run.

Amphetamine effects on poor performance of rats in a shuttle-box
Psychopharmacologia, 1966In rats which showed consistently low rates of avoidance in the shuttle-box, in spite of extensive training, d-amphetamine caused a significant increase in performance. l-Amphetamine also stimulated these rats (type II poor performers) to better performance, but was much less potent.
