Revision of the alderfly genus Indosialis Lestage (Megaloptera: Sialidae)
Zootaxa, 2008Indosialis Lestage is a small Asian genus of alderflies. Herein, we describe a new species, I. indicus, and revise the three species in the genus. A key to males and a discussion of the phylogeny and biogeography of the genus is provided.

Revision of the genus Sialis from Oriental China (Megaloptera: Sialidae)
Zootaxa, 2006The species of the genus Sialis from Oriental China are revised. The following three species are described as new to science: Sialis elegans sp. nov., Sialis kunmingensis sp. nov., and Sialis versicoloris sp. nov. A key to the species of Sialis from Oriental China is presented.

Early embryology of the alderfly, Sialis mitsuhashii okamoto (Megaloptera : Sialidae)
International Journal of Insect Morphology and Embryology, 1981Abstract The early embryonic development of Sialis mitsuhashii (Megaloptera) was studied, because little is known about the embryology of Megaloptera. Egg period is about 11 days (18–21°C). The organization of freshly laid egg and the processes from fertilization to formation of the germ band are described.

The alderflies of Kansas (Megaloptera: Sialidae)
Transactions of the Kansas Academy of Science, 2004Abstract The alderflies occurring in Kansas are summarized and figured. A key for the identification of adult males and females of the five species of Sialis occurring in the area is provided. County records are reviewed for each species, with Sialis infumata Newman newly recorded for Bourbon County.

A key to the larvae of Sialidae (Insecta: Megaloptera) occurring in the British Isles
Freshwater Biology, 1979SUMMARY. The discovery of a third species of alderfly (Sialis nigripes) in Britain and Ireland necessitates a new larval key for the group in these islands. Characters are now provided to distinguish the larvae of the three species, and their habitat and distribution in the British Isles are outlined.

Here we describe a new species of the alderfly genus Sialis Latreille, 1802 from southeastern China, namely S. kouwenkaii sp. nov. The new species appears to be related to a group of Sialis species once placed in Nipponosialis Kuwayama, 1962. Morphological differences between the new species and its closely related species are discussed.

Sialis navasi, a new alderfly species from China (Megaloptera: Sialidae)
Zootaxa, 2009The taxonomic position and synonymy of 11 native afrotropical species of Odontolochini Stebnicka & Howden, 1996 are discussed and re-descriptions are provided. Lectotypes are here designated for Odontolochus sulcatus Endrödi, 1964 and Loeblietus sulcatus Endrödi, 1979.

The Canadian Entomologist, 1980AbstractEgg masses and eggs of Sialis hasta, S. iola, S. joppa, S. infumata, S. aequalis, S. vagans, S. glabella, S. mohri, S. velata, and S. itasca are described using SEM micrographs. Diagnostic characteristics of chorion surface and micropylar structure and a key for specific determination of eggs of these 10 species are given.
