Creep Investigation of SiCf-SiBC Composites
Scripta Materialia, 2005The concept of ceramic matrix composites was proposed in the eighties to be used in the aeronautical and space domains. Classical SiCf-SiC have changed into complex materials, such as SiCf-SiBC investigated in this work: that composite is reinforced with SiC Hi-Nicalon fibers and has a multi-layer and self-sealing matrix.

Fabrication of Si3N4–SiBC composite ceramic and its excellent electromagnetic properties
Journal of the European Ceramic Society, 2012Abstract To obtain better electromagnetic wave absorbing property, it is vitally necessary to develop novel ceramics with not only high dielectric loss but also low dielectric constant. Si3N4–SiBC, a composite ceramic with such dielectric properties, was fabricated by infiltrating SiBC into porous Si3N4 ceramic via low pressure chemical vapor ...

The internal impedance of an axisymmetric air-core inductor is computed by the boundary element method (BEM) coupled with high-order surface impedance boundary conditions (SIBCs), which considers the curvature of the cross sections of the conductors. The

Damage Creep Mechanisms of SiCf-SiBC Composites
2008In the 1373-1523K domain, the creep behavior of SiC f -SiBC batches tested under argon and 120 MPa has been investigated. The creep deformation of these composite is governed by a damage creep mechanism: first the creation of matrix microcracking until its saturation, then an opening of the microcracks in the transverse tows.
