Sedimentology and stratigraphic correlation of Vendian deposits in the southwestern Siberian Craton: Major contribution of an exocratonic clastic source to sedimentary systems

open access: yesЛитосфера, 2018
The study focuses on the sedimentation and stratigraphy of a large Vendian (Ediacaran) sedimentary basin in the southwestern Siberian craton, with implications for the origin of its units and subunits.

Enlargement of the area of the Timpton Large Igneous Province (ca. 1.75 ga) of the Siberian craton

open access: yesГеодинамика и тектонофизика, 2019
We present new geochronological data on dolerites from the Chaya dyke swarm of the Baikal inlier of the Siberian craton. The U‐Pb dating of baddeleyite from one dyke located at the SW end of the Chaya dyke swarm yielded an age of 1752±6 Ma, similar to ...

Thermobarometry of Diamond Inclusions: Evidence Mantle Evolution beneath Siberian Craton and Archean Cratons Worldwide.

open access: yes, 2021
Thermobarometric calculations for mineral inclusions in diamonds provide a systematic comparison of PTXFO2 conditions for different cratons worldwide, using a database of 4440 mineral EPMA analyses. Beneath all cratons, the cold branch of the mantle geotherm (35-32 mWm−2) relates to the sub-Ca garnets and rarely omphacitic diamond inclusions,

Siberian craton - a fragment of a Paleoproterozoic supercontinent [PDF]

open access: yesRussian Journal of Earth Sciences, 2002
The sialic (volcanogenic) material of the terranes in 3the Siberian fragment of a Paleoproterozoic supercontinent separated from the mantle 3.5, 3.3, 3.0, and 2.5 billion years ago. The collision zones (sutures) between the terranes are dated by granitoids which melted from the crust of the terranes in two periods of time: 1.9 and 1.8 billion years ago.

LYSAN ALKALINE-ULTRABASIC COMPLEX (EASTERN SAYAN): AGE AND GEODYNAMIC CONSEQUENCES

open access: yesГеодинамика и тектонофизика, 2022
This paper presents new ideas about the formational identity, as well as the first data on the age of formation of rocks within the Lysan intrusive complex located at junction of the Derbin block and the Sisim-Kazyr zone of the Central Asian folded belt.

Structure and evolution of the Baikal rift: A synthesis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Active continental rifts are spectacular manifestations of the deformation of continents but are not very numerous at the surface of the Earth. Among them, the Baikal rift has been extensively studied during the last decades.

Chemostratigraphy of Neoproterozoic carbonates: implications for 'blind dating' [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
The delta C-13(carb) and Sr-87/Sr-86 secular variations in Neoproteozoic seawater have been used for the purpose of 'isotope stratigraphy' but there are a number of problems that can preclude its routine use.

Mesozoic–Tertiary exhumation history of the Altai Mountains, northern Xinjiang, China: New constraints from apatite fission track data [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
This study uses apatite fission track (FT) analysis to constrain the exhumation history of bedrock samples collected from the Altai Mountains in northern Xinjiang, China.

Interaction between protokimberlite melts and mantle lithosphere: evidence from mantle xenoliths from the Dalnyaya kimberlite pipe, Yakutia (Russia) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The Dalnyaya kimberlite pipe (Yakutia, Russia) contains mantle peridotite xenoliths (mostly lherzolites and harzburgites) that show both sheared porphyroclastic (deformed) and coarse granular textures, together with ilmenite and clinopyroxene megacrysts.
