Identification of Paleogene deposits in southern Siberian Platform
International Geology Review, 1967Age of Paleogene deposits of flora and fauna in the southern Siberian Platform (Pg23 - Pg31), determined solely on the basis of palynological data was determined in 1962 in the sporepollen laboratory of the Irkutsk Geologic Board. These data indicate that at the time the sediments were formed the dominant vegetation consisted of typically subtropical ...

Cupriferous Sandstones and Shales of the Siberian Platform
1986The Siberian platform is host to a variety of mineral deposits, including stratiform copper deposits in sandstones and shales. Six major copper provinces are recognized (Prieniseyskaya, Prisajanskaya, Pribaikalskaya, Prialdanskaya, Priverkhojanskaya, Prianabarskaya), and within these at least 15 major zones of deposits and occurrences, including the ...

The Trappean Complex of the Siberian Platform
2016This chapter is devoted to a study of thermal effect of numerous dolerite intrusions of the Lower Triassic age presented widely in sedimentary basins of the East Siberia platform. The modeling of thermal regime and maturation history of sedimentary basin of the Siberian Platform is conducted on the examples of two sedimentary sections: the Kuyumba-12 ...

Principal Issues Surrounding Trap Magmatism of the Siberian Platform
2013The Noril’sk region has a special place in the basalt field of the Siberian Platform. It is characterized by a complex geodynamic environment, the most entire sequence of the volcanogenic succession, great variety of hypabyssal intrusions of varying composition, and with different degree of differentiation.

Mantle deformation beneath the South African and Siberian platforms
Nature, 1975Xenoliths of mantle lherzolite from kimberlite pipes in Africa and Siberian Yakutia have undergone deformation and thermal excitation of some of their constituent minerals. Their deformation states support the view that the mantle deforms systematically by creep processes resulting from shearing stress initiated, perhaps, during plate movement.
