Stereotyped Burying Behavior inSicarius
American Zoologist, 1969SYNOPSIS. The burying behavior in two South American forms of the haplogyne spider genus Sicarius is cinematographically analyzed and found to be qualitatively stereotypic with 16 successive, distinct steps comprising the whole behavior. This ethological character is therefore of potentially great systematic value.
