Spatial Distribution and Conservation Prioritization of Medicinal Gymnosperms in China Using an Optimal Set‐Cover Approach

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 5, May 2026.
The study identified 41 priority conservation grids and 8 critical conservation gaps not covered by national reserves for medicinal gymnosperms. We proposed a practical, multi‐dimensional framework for their conservation. ABSTRACT To elucidate the geographical distribution patterns and hotspots of medicinal gymnosperms in China, providing a scientific ...

Dynamic topography produced by lower crustal flow against rheological strength heterogeneities bordering the Tibetan Plateau [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Dynamic stresses developed in the deep crust as a consequence of flow of weak lower crust may explain anomalously high topography and extensional structures localized along orogenic plateau margins.

Asperity‐Driven Cascading Rupture of a Mw 1.6 Induced Microearthquake

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 8, 28 April 2026.
Abstract Studies of small earthquake (M < 2) rupture processes traditionally rely on simplified models that assume symmetric slip or point sources. Using an exceptionally dense seismic network and empirical Green's function (EGF) analysis, we investigate the complex rupture of a Mw 1.6 microearthquake induced by hydraulic fracturing.

Characteristics of the temperature–pressure field evolution of Middle Permian system in the northwest of Sichuan Basin

open access: yesEnergy Exploration & Exploitation, 2018
The Sichuan Basin is one of the richest oil and gas basins in China. The Middle Permian units (the Qixia and Maokou Formations) in the northwest Sichuan Basin have great potential for gas exploration.

Significant Radiative Absorption of Brown Carbon Aerosols From Residential Fuel Combustion in Developing Regions

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 8, 28 April 2026.
Abstract Widespread household use of solid fuels releases massive amounts of carbonaceous aerosols in developing countries. Assessment of their roles in meteorology and climate change is considered low confidence by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

Lithofacies and reservoir characteristics of Permian volcanic rocks in the Sichuan Basin

open access: yesNatural Gas Industry B, 2019
In order to provide basis for further exploration and deployment of volcanic gas reservoirs in the Sichuan Basin, we classified Permian volcanic rocks in this basin using drilling, mud logging, assay, logging and seismic data comprehensively.

El Niño Events Enhance Melting of Sea Ice in the West of Greenland

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 7, 16 April 2026.
Abstract Using reanalysis data sets and numerical simulations, this study investigates the linkage between El Niño events and spring Arctic sea ice melt rate (AMR) in the west of Greenland. The results indicate that the accelerated spring AMR often corresponds to the previous winter's El Niño–like sea surface temperature anomalies.

Affecting factors and application of the stable hydrogen isotopes of alkane gases

open access: yesPetroleum Exploration and Development, 2019
To study the composition, affecting factors of the stable hydrogen isotopes of alkane gases and their application to identification of the natural gas origin and maturities, the chemical and isotopic compositions of 118 gas samples of Carboniferous ...

Constraining the Relative Chronology of Repeated Large Earthquakes in the Longmen Shan Thrust Belt, Eastern Tibetan Plateau

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 7, 16 April 2026.
Abstract The Yingxiu–Beichuan Fault Zone (YBFZ), located in the Longmen Shan Thrust Belt (LSTB) on the eastern Tibetan Plateau, is highly seismically active. However, direct evidence of large earthquakes at depth is scarce. Here, we present rock magnetic, microstructural, and geochemical analyses of four fault zones from the Wenchuan Earthquake Fault ...

Scavenging effect analysis of precipitation on PM2.5 and PM10 in Sichuan Basin

open access: yes暴雨灾害
The Sichuan Basin is one of the most severely air-polluted regions in China. To study the scavenging effect of precipitation on PM2.5 and PM10 in Sichuan Basin, the PM2.5 and PM10 mass concentration data from 90 environmental monitoring stations and ...
