Linear antenna array synthesis with minimum side lobe level and null controling

open access: yes, 2016
In this paper, we proposed a technique for the synthesis of linear antenna array with non-uniform inter-element spacing. Scatter-search was used in the algorithm to obtain the optimal position of the elements in order to get the minimum side lobe level and nulls in desired directions.

Side lobe level reduction of metasurface transmit array

Engineering Research Express, 2022
Abstract This paper presents a study on the side-lobe level (SLL) reduction with transmission type metasurface (MTS) using the concept of non-uniform array technique and transmit array antenna. According to the non-uniform antenna array technique, the SLL can be controlled by controlling the amplitude and phase ...

A Wideband Series Fed Patch Array with Side Lobe Level Control

2020 XXXIIIrd General Assembly and Scientific Symposium of the International Union of Radio Science, 2020
In this paper a novel series fed patch array for healthcare radar monitoring applications has been proposed. The antenna is composed of six patches and works in the 5.8GHz Industrial, Scientific and Medical (ISM) band. The shape of the single patch has been designed to overcome two important limitations of this antenna topology: narrow bandwidth and ...

Study of side lobe levels for wideband phased arrays

2012 International Conference on Microwave and Millimeter Wave Technology (ICMMT), 2012
Utilization of true-time-delay (TTD) is an important approach for improving the beam-pointing accuracy of wideband phased arrays. This paper studies the side lobe properties as the true-time-delay are equipped at subarray level. The study shows that side lobe levels increase because of periodic phase error. And then, an element-level TTD line scheme is

The effect of loading Gregorian antennas on side-lobe levels

Canadian Journal of Physics, 1996
E- and H -plane radiation patterns of focus-fed, axially symmetric Gregorian antennas are analyzed using the generalized method of the geometrical theory of diffraction. Only the rim of the main reflector was loaded, in a smoothly tapered manner, but the whole surface of the subreflector was loaded.

Side lobe level reduction in antenna array using weighting function

2014 International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Information & Communication Technology, 2014
Phased array antennas are generally used for the inherent flexibility to steer the beam electronically and also the need for specialized multi-function radar systems. In the antenna arrays the side lobe level is main problem which causes the wastage of energy. In this paper a different windowing techniques are used to suppress the side-lobes in linear,

Side lobe level reduction in horn antennas using graphene

2016 24th Iranian Conference on Electrical Engineering (ICEE), 2016
This paper proposes a novel method to suppress the side-lobe level of pyramidal horn antennas using graphene sheets. Using numerical full wave simulation, it is shown that loading graphene sheet inside the horn antenna leads to a tapered aperture field distribution, resulting in side-lobe level reduction.
