Enhanced Retrieval of Spring Snow Depth Over Pan‐Arctic Sea Ice From AMSR2 Observations for 2013–2023 Using Multi‐Model Machine Learning

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Machine Learning and Computation, Volume 3, Issue 4, August 2026.
Abstract Snow on sea ice modulates the Earth's radiation budget and sea ice mass balance, yet satellite retrievals of Arctic snow depth remain subject to substantial algorithmic uncertainty. We develop a multi‐model machine learning (ML) framework for retrieving spring snow depth over Arctic sea ice from Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer 2 (AMSR2).

Cross‐Scale Synergistic Optimization for Miniature Meta‐Liquid Hybrid Zoom Imaging

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 15, Issue 13, 13 July 2026.
A physically constrained optimization framework links electrowetting liquid lenses and metasurface dispersion engineering to realize a compact visible‐band achromatic zoom imager. By co‐optimizing zoom actuation, meta‐atom manufacturability, and system aberrations, the design achieves 1.5x zoom in a 15.5 mm track and clarifies robustness against ...

Transducers Across Scales and Frequencies: A System‐Level Framework for Multiphysics Integration and Co‐Design

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, Volume 11, Issue 13, 8 July 2026.
Transducers convert physical signals into electrical and optical representations, yet each mechanism is bounded by intrinsic trade‐offs across bandwidth, sensitivity, speed, and energy. This review maps transduction mechanisms across physical scale and frequency, showing how heterogeneous integration and multiphysics co‐design transform isolated ...

Physical-layer security enhancement in cognitive radio networks using whale optimization-based sidelobe suppression

open access: yesICT Express
OFDM-based cognitive radio networks suffer from high sidelobe emissions, leading to adjacent interference and potential security vulnerabilities. This paper introduces a Whale Optimization Algorithm (WOA)-based cancellation carrier (CC) approach for ...

Quantitative Evaluation and Error Analysis of GPM DPR Rainfall Products (Version 07) Over Yangtze‐and‐Huai River Basin in China

open access: yesEarth and Space Science, Volume 13, Issue 7, July 2026.
Abstract The Dual‐Frequency Precipitation Radar (DPR) aboard the Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) core satellite has advanced global precipitation monitoring with consistent long‐term data. This study evaluates the rainfall rate from GPM DPR version 07 Level‐2 products over the Yangtze‐and‐Huai River Basin with rain gauge observations.
