Abstract Menopause leads to loss of cardiovascular and renal protection, and while hormone therapy offers benefits, its efficacy may depend on health status at menopause onset. We hypothesized that preexisting hypertension blunts the renal, cardiac, and vascular effects of Estradiol (E2).
