This study compared the traditional cardoon cropping system with the option of temporary intercropping during the first year of cultivation with treatments: Vicia villosa, Eruca sativa, and Camelina sativa. Results show that temporary intercropping reduced weed biomass by 24%, while intercropping with V. villosa increased cardoon yield (in the year II)

We compared growth, gastrointestinal tolerance, and crying frequency/duration in healthy Chinese infants aged 3–4 months who consumed both breastmilk and formula free of A1‐type β‐casein (A1PF) or conventional infant formula (CON). At Weeks 2 and 4, the A1PF group had significantly lower mean daily total Infant Gastrointestinal Symptom Questionnaire ...

An injector testbed for continuous‐wave free‐electron lasers based on a direct current gun and an interchangeable very high frequency gun is under construction. Its physical design and performance have been studied carefully. The continuous‐wave free‐electron laser (CW‐FEL), based on superconducting radiofrequency (SRF) technology with an electron bunch

Log-periodic oscillations due to discrete effects in complex networks
We show that discretization of internode distribution in complex networks affects internode distances l_ij calculated as a function of degrees (k_i k_j) and an average path length as function of network size N.

Coaxial helium electrospray for single‐particle imaging at X‐ray free electron lasers
This study presents the Coaxial Helium Electrospray (CHeES) technique, employing a 3D‐printed microfluidic coaxial nozzle to broaden the single particle imaging sample range at XFELs, enhancing sample conductivity support and reducing background noise.Single‐particle imaging at X‐ray free‐electron lasers relies on suitable sample injection of nanoscale

The Effect of Composition on Nova Ignitions
The accretion of hydrogen-rich matter onto C/O and O/Ne white dwarfs in binary systems leads to unstable thermonuclear ignition of the accreted envelope, triggering a convective thermonuclear runaway and a subsequent classical, recurrent, or symbiotic ...

A study of the long term evolution of quasi periodic oscillations in the accretion powered X-ray pulsar 4U 1626-67 [PDF]
We report here a study of the long term properties of Quasi Periodic Oscillations (QPO) in an unusual accreting X-ray pulsar, 4U 1626--67. This is a unique accretion powered X-ray pulsar in which we have found the QPOs to be present during all ...

Modeling of X‐ray pulse propagation in beamline systems using a 6D phase space ray‐tracing method
This work develops a 6D phase space tracing module in the FURION software. The 6D phase space tracing provides a solution for the rapid simulation of ultrashort pulse propagation in X‐ray beamlines, especially in dispersive beamline systems. With the rapid development of X‐ray free‐electron lasers (XFELs) that can generate ultrashort X‐ray pulses with a
