En la Sierra Madre del Sur (México) se han identificado nueve complejos intrusivos cuya composición varia de trondjemítica a granítica (Negendank et al., 1985). Con base en datos estratigráficos y en menor grado radiométricos, se puede deducir que la edad de estos complejos varia del Jurásico al Cenozoico.
