Spatial distribution pattern of the endangered endemic cycad Ceratozamia fuscoviridis (Zamiaceae) in central Mexico

open access: yesPlant Species Biology, Volume 40, Issue 6, Page 572-583, November 2025.
Spatial distribution pattern were studied for Ceratozamia fuscoviridis, an endangered species in Mexico, based on Ripley's K t and K 12 analysis. Clumped spatial distribution patters was found in individuals of all populations, suggesting low interaction with predators/dispersers and/or evidence of suitable microsites for cycads.

Admixture Mapping Reveals Evidence for Multiple Mitonuclear Incompatibilities in Swordtail Fish Hybrids

open access: yesMolecular Ecology, Volume 34, Issue 22, November 2025.
ABSTRACT How barriers to gene flow arise between closely related species is one of the oldest questions in evolutionary biology. Classic models in evolutionary biology predict that negative epistatic interactions between variants in the genomes of diverged lineages, known as hybrid incompatibilities, will reduce viability or fertility in hybrids.

open access: yesActa Botanica Mexicana, 2016

Biotic Assembly of the Species of Triatomini (Hemiptera: Reduviidae: Triatominae) in the Mexican and South American Transition Zones

open access: yesJournal of Biogeography, Volume 52, Issue 10, October 2025.
ABSTRACT Aim To infer the biogeographic history of the Triatomini by evaluating how their species became part of the biogeographic transition zones of the New World. This group of blood‐feeding insects includes key vectors of Chagas disease. Understanding their dispersal and diversification over geological time may help elucidate the temporal dynamics ...

Effectiveness of temporal matching in ecological niche models: Insights for a low‐dispersing species

open access: yesEcosphere, Volume 16, Issue 8, August 2025.
Abstract Ecological niche models, crucial for estimating the potential distribution of species under global change, can face reduced accuracy when the timing of occurrence data does not align with the environmental data. One solution is to ensure a close temporal match between the environment and the observation date.
