ROBUST SIEVE ANALYSIS USING SIEVE-BY-SIEVE METHOD

open access: yesHEALTH SCIENCES QUARTERLY, 2020
Distribution of size of sand grains is an important factor in characterization of unconsolidated reservoirs as well as designing sand control devices. In practice, sand grains are passed through a set of known mesh sizes by mechanical vibration and for a fixed period then the weight of sediments retained on each sieve are measured and converted into ...

A Review and Analysis of Horticultural Substrate Characterization by Sieve Analysis

open access: yesHortScience, 2022
The physical, hydrological, and physico-chemical properties of horticultural substrates are influenced by particle shape and size. Sieve analysis has been the predominate method used to characterize the particle size distribution of horticultural ...

Causal inference methods for vaccine sieve analysis with effect modification. [PDF]

open access: yesStat Med, 2022
The protective effects of vaccines may vary depending on individual characteristics, such as age. Traditionally, such effect modification has been examined with subgroup analyses or inclusion of cross‐product terms in regression frameworks.

Epitope-based sieve analysis of Plasmodium falciparum sequences from a FMP2.1/AS02A vaccine trial is consistent with differential vaccine efficacy against immunologically relevant AMA1 variants. [PDF]

open access: yesVaccine, 2020
To prevent premature dismissal of promising vaccine programs, it is critical to determine if lack of efficacy in the field is due to allele specific-efficacy, rather than to the lack of immunogenicity of the candidate antigen.

Dry sieving analysis of soil by vibratory sieve shaker: modification and optimization

open access: yesDokuchaev Soil Bulletin, 2019
This study performs a methodical experiment on adaptation and unification of soil dry sieving analysis. The analysis is based on the Savvinov dry sieving method that uses 0.5-1.5 kg air-dried soil samples which are passed through the 10, 7, 5, 3, 2, 1, 0.5, 0.25 mm sieves. The studied soils are silt loam Eutric Retisol and Haplic Chernozem.

Sieve analysis of breakthrough HIV-1 sequences in HVTN 505 identifies vaccine pressure targeting the CD4 binding site of Env-gp120. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS One, 2017
Although the HVTN 505 DNA/recombinant adenovirus type 5 vector HIV-1 vaccine trial showed no overall efficacy, analysis of breakthrough HIV-1 sequences in participants can help determine whether vaccine-induced immune responses impacted viruses that ...

Comprehensive sieve analysis of breakthrough HIV-1 sequences in the RV144 vaccine efficacy trial. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS Comput Biol, 2015
The RV144 clinical trial showed the partial efficacy of a vaccine regimen with an estimated vaccine efficacy (VE) of 31% for protecting low-risk Thai volunteers against acquisition of HIV-1.

Particle Size Distribution of Organic Complete Diets for Laying Hens during Feed Offering

open access: yesAgriculture, 2022
Complete diets for laying hens are usually offered in meal form. This form initially promotes the laying hens’ natural feed intake behavior and allows them to satisfy their pecking behavior.

Sedimentary texture of crevasse splays formed by present-day and palaeofloods against the background of floodplain geomorphology and lithofacies exposed in channel cut banks (in the Vistula River valley between Warsaw and Płock, Poland)

open access: yesMiscellanea Geographica: Regional Studies on Development, 2023
On the floodplain of a sandy, braided river in the Central European Lowland, we studied the sedimentary texture of two crevasse splays, which were: (1) formed due to a levee breach in the 2010 flood, and widely documented by hydrological, bathymetric and
