ABSTRACT Sieve analysis can be used to determine the size and shape distribution of a sediment sample by combining measurements made with a suite of sieves with openings of different sizes and shapes. This is a tomographic process that relies on the fact that different sieves discriminate grains with different, but overlapping, combinations of size and

There are two ways in which the sieving step of the number field sieve can be implemented: the line sieve and the lattice sieve. The lattice sieve was proposed by Pollard in 1991. It is known to perform better than the line sieve. A preliminary analysis of the lattice sieve was done by Pollard in this introductory paper.

Some factors affecting soil sieve analysis in forensic science. 1. Dry sieving
Forensic Science International, 1987The results reported in this study indicate that careful control of the applied torque settings and instrumental modification can play an important part in the determination of particle size distributions of soils using the dry sieving technique. Determinations were highly repeatable and increased the sensitivity of the method for comparative soil ...

Analysis of Influence Factors on the Sieving Efficiency in Tea Vibration Sieving
Agricultural Research, 2018During the process of tea vibration sieving, the instability of tea flow has great influence on the sieving efficiency, which contains the sieving quality and sieving productivity. In this paper, the influence factors on the sieving efficiency in tea vibration sieving were studied. Firstly, the mechanism analysis of tea vibration sieving was conducted.

Molecular sieve chromatography of proteoglycans: A comparative analysis
Analytical Biochemistry, 1976Abstract The separation of three major populations of proteoglycans (PG) by molecular sieve chromatography with either controlled-pore glass beads (CPG) or 1% agarose (A-150m) is compared. The resolving power and recovery on CPG or A-150m columns are comparable. However, CPG columns can be operated at a flow rate 50–100 times higher than those packed
