Chemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.Unexpected reaction pathways to porphyrin‐phthalocyanine hybrids are uncovered by the synthesis of “half‐macrocycle” fragments and subsequent macrocyclization. Rather than the expected 2:2 “ABBA” product, the 3:1 “ABBB” hybrid is isolated as the only macrocyclic product.

Peroxodisulfate‐Enhanced Leaching of Deep‐Sea Manganese Crusts and Sulfides
Chemie Ingenieur Technik, EarlyView.Ammonium peroxodisulfate enables efficient leaching of deep‐sea manganese crusts and massive sulfides while offering electrolytic recycling. High leaching yields for V, Mn, Co, Mo, Sn, and W, along with complete leaching of As and Sb, highlight its potential as a powerful and sustainable oxidant for marine resource processing.

On Metal Carbonyl Compounds in Catalytic Methanol Synthesis: Detection, Consequences, and Removal
Chemie Ingenieur Technik, EarlyView.Deactivation of Cu/ZnO/Al2O3 catalysts by metal carbonyl compounds in the feed gas is a critical problem in catalytic methanol synthesis. We utilize PTR–MS to identify potential chemical sources, detect contamination in an in‐house CO gas line, and validate filter methods for removing these catalyst poisons before synthesis.
