Adoption of SIFT-MS for VOC Pollution Monitoring in South Korea
The pollution of air and water with volatile organic compounds (VOCs), both hazardous and odorous, is of significant concern due to impacts on human health and quality of life, as well as the environment. South Korea is a highly industrialized and densely populated nation and suffers from significant VOC and ozone pollution.

Recent developments and applications of selected ion flow tube mass spectrometry (SIFT-MS). [PDF]
AbstractSelected ion flow tube mass spectrometry (SIFT‐MS) is now recognized as the most versatile analytical technique for the identification and quantification of trace gases down to the parts‐per‐trillion by volume, pptv, range. This statement is supported by the wide reach of its applications, from real‐time analysis, obviating sample collection of

Selected-ion-flow-tube-mass-spectrometry (SIFT-MS) is an analytical technique for volatile detection and quantification. SIFT-MS can be applied in a ‘white box’ approach, measuring concentrations of target compounds, or as a ‘black box’ fingerprinting technique, scanning all product ions during a full scan.

Aldehydes gas ozonation monitoring: Interest of SIFT/MS versus GC/FID [PDF]
Two analytical techniques - online Gas Chromatography coupled with Flame Ionization Detector (often used method for VOCs monitoring) versus Selected Ion Flow Tube coupled with Mass Spectrometry (a more recent technique based on direct mass spectrometry) - were compared in association to an ozone-based gas treatment.

RI-LPOH: Rotation-Invariant Local Phase Orientation Histogram for Multi-Modal Image Matching
To better cope with the significant nonlinear radiation distortions (NRD) and severe rotational distortions in multi-modal remote sensing image matching, this paper introduces a rotationally robust feature-matching method based on the maximum index map ...

Increase of methanol in exhaled breath quantified by SIFT-MS following aspartame ingestion [PDF]
Aspartame, methyl-L-α-aspartyl-L-phenylalaninate, is used worldwide as a sweetener in foods and drinks and is considered to be safe at an acceptable daily intake (ADI) of 40 mg per kg of body weight. This compound is completely hydrolyzed in the gastrointestinal tract to aspartic acid, phenylalanine and methanol, each being toxic at high levels.
