SAFFO: A SIFT based approach for digital anastylosis for fresco recOnstruction
Pattern Recognition Letters, 2020Abstract Anastylosis is an archaeological technique which focuses on the reconstruction of collapsed building and destroyed artworks, starting from the original pieces. Many digital approaches have been developed in the last decade, mainly based on 2D and 3D analysis of the structure of the fragments.

A MapReduce Approach for SIFT Feature Extraction
2013 International Conference on Cloud Computing and Big Data, 2013SIFT feature extraction is a computationally intensive problem, for the large scale image, which will take a long time to extract SIFT feature. This paper presents a novel approach, based on MapReduce, to accelerate SIFT feature extraction. A MapReduce based SIFT feature extraction model is established, and the original SIFT feature extraction progress

Super-Resolution by POCS-SIFT Approach
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2014Projection Onto Convex Sets theory (POCS) and Scale Invariant Feature Transform (SIFT) algorithm were introduced for super-resolution restoration of moving blurred image. In order to achieve a better restored image, a POCS-SIFT based super-resolution image restoration algorithm was proposed, which incorporates POCS theory and SIFT algorithm.

A combined Harris-SIFT approach for indexing the Arabic document
2017 14th International Multi-Conference on Systems, Signals & Devices (SSD), 2017This paper present a query-by-example word spotting in handwritten Arabic documents, based on Harris detector and Scale Invariant Feature Transform (SIFT), without using any text word or line segmentation approach, because any errors affect to the subsequent word representations.

An Iris Recognition Approach with SIFT Descriptors
2012In iris recognition systems how to represent texture pattern is an important issue. The paper proposes a novel approach based on SIFT for feature representation of iris texture. This approach partitions a normalized iris image into non-overlapping small sub-images and uses SIFT descriptor for representing the characteristics of each sub-image.

SIFT based approach on Bangla sign language recognition
2015 IEEE 8th International Workshop on Computational Intelligence and Applications (IWCIA), 2015This paper presents a SIFT-based geometrically computational approach to vigorously recognize Bangla sign language (BdSL). Gaussian distribution and grayscaling techniques are applied for image processing and normalizing the sign image. After this pre-processing, features are extracted from the sign image by implementing scale invariant feature ...

A SIFT-Based Approach for Image Registration
2012Over the past several decades, image registration has emerged as one of the key technologies in medical image computing with applications ranging from computer assisted diagnosis to computer aided therapy and surgery. In this paper, we present a new method for medical image registration, which is based on the Scale-invariant feature transform (SIFT ...

Region-based SIFT approach to iris recognition
Optics and Lasers in Engineering, 2009Traditional iris recognition systems transfer iris images to polar (or log-polar) coordinates and have performed very well on data that tends to have a centered gaze. The patterns of an iris are part of a 3-D structure that is captured as a two-dimensional (2-D) image and cooperative iris recognition systems are capable of correctly matching these 2-D ...

AN AGENT-ORIENTED APPROACH FOR IMAGE CLASSIFICATION WITH ICA-COLOR SIFT
International Journal on Artificial Intelligence Tools, 2012This paper discusses the research conducted on developing a Multi-Agent System (MAS) for solving an image classification task. The aim of this research is to equip agents in MAS with reusable autonomous capabilities. The system provides a flexible framework for developing the communication aspects within an agent-oriented architecture to program ...

A PCA-Based Binning Approach for Matching to Large SIFT Database
2010 Canadian Conference on Computer and Robot Vision, 2010A method for efficiently finding SIFT correspondences in large keypoint archives by separating a database into bins – using the principal components of the SIFT descriptor vector as the binning criteria – is proposed. This technique builds upon our previous efforts to improve SIFT matching speed in image pairs, and will find correspondences ...
