Drawing inspiration from the layered hard‐soft architecture found in sea sponges, this work establishes a new framework for architected cementitious composites (ACC) through multi‐material additive manufacturing (MMAM) process. The integration of mortar and elastomer phases into layered architectures enables synergistic toughening mechanisms, including

ALPRS - A New Approach for License Plate Recognition Using the SIFT Algorithm
This paper presents a new approach for the automatic license plate recognition, which includes the SIFT algorithm in step to locate the plate in the input image. In this new approach, besides the comparison of the features obtained with the SIFT algorithm, the correspondence between the spatial orientations and the positioning associated with the ...

Polymorph‐Specific Electronic Transduction in WO3 during Molecular Sensing
Metal‐oxide polymorphs with similar surface chemistry can nevertheless exhibit distinct sensing properties. In γ‐ and ε‐WO3, analyte adsorption appears comparable; yet, only ε‐WO3 induces a pronounced lattice electronic perturbation that accommodates charge in sub‐conduction band minimum states.

User-centred personalised video abstraction approach adopting SIFT features
The rapid growth of digital video content in recent years has imposed the need for the development of technologies with the capability to produce condensed but semantically rich versions of original input video. Consequently, the topic of Video Summarisation is becoming increasingly popular in the multimedia community and numerous video abstraction ...

Magnetic tunnel junctions (MTJs) using MgO tunnel barriers face challenges of high resistance‐area product and low tunnel magnetoresistance (TMR). To discover alternative materials, Literature Enhanced Ab initio Discovery (LEAD) is developed. The LEAD‐predicted materials are theoretically evaluated, showing that MTJs with dusting of ScN or TiN on ...

Assigning Main Orientation to an EOH Descriptor on Multispectral Images
This paper proposes an approach to compute an EOH (edge-oriented histogram) descriptor with main orientation. EOH has a better matching ability than SIFT (scale-invariant feature transform) on multispectral images, but does not assign a main orientation ...

Solvent‐mediated reactivity control of Lewis‐paired dopants enables highly efficient, finely tunable, and stable doping of organic semiconductors. The optimally doped semiconductor films exhibit superior thermoelectric performance and doping stability, feature delocalized polarons along structurally ordered polymer backbones, and outperform ...

Curve description by histograms of tangent directions
The authors propose a novel approach for the description of objects based on contours in their images using real‐valued feature vectors. The approach is particularly suitable when objects of interest have high contrast and texture‐free images or when the

TSRS - A NEW APPROACH FOR TRAFFIC SIGN RECOGNITION USING THE SIFT ALGORITHM
This paper proposes a new approach for traffic sign recognition using images captured by a low-cost mapping system. The proposed approach applies the SIFT algorithm to extract keypoint features that are used to evaluate the correspondences between a road image containing one or more plates and the images of traffic signs (templates).

Phase‐Pure and Size‐Tunable Tin Halide Perovskite Quantum Dots
A trioctylphosphine oxide modulated protocol allows for the synthesis and study of the optical properties of a broad library of tin halide perovskite quantum dots across multiple A‐ and X‐site compositions with precise size tuning while eliminating unwanted 2D phases.
