W-band RoF polarization multiplexing system supports 1048576 QAM with delta-sigma modulation.

Optics Letters, 2023
We propose and experimentally verify a photonics-aided W-band millimeter wave (MMW) radio-over-fiber (RoF) polarization-multiplexed envelope detection system for high-order quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) signals.

A Wireless Fiber Photometry System Based on a High-Precision CMOS Biosensor With Embedded Continuous-Time $\Sigma \Delta$ Modulation

IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Circuits and Systems, 2018
Fluorescence biophotometry measurements require wide dynamic range (DR) and high-sensitivity laboratory apparatus. Indeed, it is often very challenging to accurately resolve the small fluorescence variations in presence of noise and high-background ...

A Novel Wider Range Modulation for Indirect Matrix Converter Utilizing Delta-Sigma and Space Vector

IEEE transactions on power electronics, 2023
The coupling between the rectifier and inverter makes the modulation of the indirect matrix converter (IMC) relatively complicated. A novel modulation method is proposed in this letter, where a space vector modulation without a zero-voltage vector, which

Photonic-aided W-band dual-vector RF signal generation and detection enabled by bandpass delta-sigma modulation and heterodyne detection.

Optics Letters, 2023
We propose a photonic-aided dual-vector radio-frequency (RF) signal generation and detection scheme enabled by bandpass delta-sigma modulation and heterodyne detection.

Digital Mobile Fronthaul Based on Delta-Sigma Modulation and Chirp-Managed Signal Transmission

Journal of Lightwave Technology, 2023
A novel digital mobile fronthaul (MFH) architecture combining delta-sigma modulation (DSM) and the chirp-managed technique is proposed to enhance spectral efficiency and dispersion tolerance.

Chopper-stabilized sigma-delta modulator

1993 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2002
A new architecture of the sigma-dela modulators using a chopper-stabilized configuration is described. It is shown that using this new architecture and without any other circuit techniques, a sigma-delta modulator becomes immune from the contamination of the inherent low-frequency noise, such as offset noise, flicker noise, and clock feedthrough noise.

Experimental Demonstration of a 96 Channel WDM-FSO System Based Mobile Fronthaul with 1024QAM Delta-Sigma-Modulation

Optical Fiber Communications Conference and Exhibition, 2023
For the first time, we experimentally demonstrate a 96-Channel WDM-FSO mobile fronthaul system, which can support 7.68Tbit/s PDM-OFDM-1024QAM signals delivery over 2-km SMF and 104m FSO link with the aid of 1-bit delta-sigma modulation.

Tunable bandpass SIGMA delta modulators

2003 46th Midwest Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2006
This paper examines different designs for tunable bandpass sigma delta modulators. Both discrete and continuous time implementations are considered. Comparison between different tuning methods is demonstrated using MATLAB simulations.

Look-Ahead Sigma-Delta Modulation

2011
The generic noise-shaping quantizer model from chapter four is modified to support look-ahead, and a hypothetical sigma-delta modulator with look-ahead capability is derived. From here the main principles of look-ahead are explored, including linear modeling of a look-ahead modulator, and an overview of expected benefits and disadvantages of a look ...

Sigma-delta modulation neural networks

IEEE International Conference on Neural Networks, 2002
It is shown that sigma-delta ( Sigma - Delta ) modulation can be used to model the information coding process of biological neurons. Signal analysis results demonstrate that Sigma - Delta modulation processes a noise shaping property by which signal and noise are separated into low (baseband) and high frequency bands, respectively. Restoring the signal
