Performance Analysis and Optimal Filter Design for Sigma-Delta Modulation via Duality With DPCM

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 2019
Sampling above the Nyquist rate is at the heart of sigma–delta modulation, where the increase in sampling rate is translated to a reduction in the overall (mean-squared-error) reconstruction distortion.

Performance analysis and optimal filter design for sigma-delta modulation via duality with DPCM [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Symposium on Information Theory, 2015
Sampling above the Nyquist-rate is at the heart of sigma-delta modulation, where the increase in sampling rate is translated to a reduction in the overall (minimum mean-squared-error) reconstruction distortion. This is attained by using a feedback filter

A Miniature Pockels Cell with Novel Electrode Geometry

open access: yesSensors, 2009
This paper discusses important elements of the Pockels sensing cell design. A novel electrode geometry is analyzed in order to obtain maximum sensitivity response from Pockels crystals (Bi12GeO20). This neither transversal nor truly longitudinal geometry,

CMOS sigma-delta thermal modulator [PDF]

open access: yes2010 IEEE Instrumentation & Measurement Technology Conference Proceedings, 2010
This work presents the design of a 1st-order sigma-delta thermal modulator using a thermoresistive sensor in its feedback loop, as the summing and integrating elements. The proposed system architecture allows the measurement of physical quantities that interact with the sensor, as temperature, thermal radiation and fluid velocity.

W-band radio-over-fiber transmission system with delta-sigma modulation and direct detection

open access: yesChinese Optics Letters (COL), 2023
We experimentally built a W-band photonics-aided millimeter-wave radio-over-fiber transmission system and demonstrated the delivery of up to 8192-ary quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) signal.

Class IIa HDACs forced degradation allows resensitization of oxaliplatin‐resistant FBXW7‐mutated colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
HDAC4 is degraded by the E3 ligase FBXW7. In colorectal cancer, FBXW7 mutations prevent HDAC4 degradation, leading to oxaliplatin resistance. Forced degradation of HDAC4 using a PROTAC compound restores drug sensitivity by resetting the super‐enhancer landscape, reprogramming the epigenetic state of FBXW7‐mutated cells to resemble oxaliplatin ...

Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...

Analysis of Booth Multiplier based Conventional and Short Word Length FIR Filter

open access: yesMehran University Research Journal of Engineering and Technology, 2018
The optimized implantation of digital filters has remained one of the challenging tasks, for FPGA (Field- Programmable Gate Array) based system designers, due to the involvement of very complex circuitry for multiplication.

Targeted modulation of IGFL2‐AS1 reveals its translational potential in cervical adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cervical adenocarcinoma patients face worse outcomes than squamous cell carcinoma counterparts despite similar treatment. The identification of IGFL2‐AS1's differential expression provides a molecular basis for distinguishing these histotypes, paving the way for personalized therapies and improved survival in vulnerable populations globally.

Antibiofilm activity of a chionodracine‐derived peptide by NMR‐based metabolomics of cell‐free supernatant of Acinetobacter baumannii clinical strains

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
KHS‐Cnd peptide is able to impair biofilm formation and disaggregate mature biofilms in Acinetobacter baumannii clinical isolates. Differences in extracellular metabolites reflect changes in biofilm metabolism due to KHS‐Cnd treatment. Among the differentially represented extracellular metabolites upon KHS‐Cnd treatment, the significantly altered ...
