Gravitating $\sigma$ Model Solitons
We study axially symmetric static solitons of O(3) nonlinear $\sigma$ model coupled to (2+1)-dimensional anti-de Sitter gravity. The obtained solutions are not self-dual under static metric. The usual regular topological lump solution cannot form a black

Sigma-model symmetry in orientifold models [PDF]
We investigate in the simplest compact D=4 N=1 Type IIB orientifold models the sigma-model symmetry suggested by the proposed duality of these models to heterotic orbifold vacua. This symmetry is known to be present at the classical level, and is associated to a composite connection involving untwisted moduli in the low-energy supergravity theory.

We construct an integrable sigma model with a generalized F structure, which involves a generalized Nijenhuis structure J satisfying J3=−J. Utilizing the expression of the generalized complex structure on the metric Lie group manifold G in terms of ...

We revisit the constraints on inflation models by using the current cosmological observations involving the latest local measurement of the Hubble constant ( $$H_{0} = 73.00\pm 1.75$$ H 0 = 73.00 ± 1.75 km s $$^{-1}$$ - 1 Mpc $$^{-1}$$ - 1 ).

Equilibrium density matrices for the 2D black hole sigma models from an integrable spin chain
This work concerns the quantum Lorentzian and Euclidean black hole non-linear sigma models. For the Euclidean black hole sigma model an equilibrium density matrix is proposed, which reproduces the modular invariant partition function from the 2001 paper ...

Boundary conditions and the generalized metric formulation of the double sigma model
Double sigma model with strong constraints is equivalent to the ordinary sigma model by imposing a self-duality relation. The gauge symmetries are the diffeomorphism and one-form gauge transformation with the strong constraints.

Casimir amplitudes in a quantum spherical model with long-range interaction
A $d$-dimensional quantum model system confined to a general hypercubical geometry with linear spatial size $L$ and ``temporal size'' $1/T $ ($T$ - temperature of the system) is considered in the spherical approximation under periodic boundary conditions.

Twistor spaces for HKT manifolds [PDF]
We construct the twistor space associated with an HKT manifold, that is, a hyper-K\"ahler manifold with torsion, a type of geometry that arises as the target space geometry in two-dimensional sigma models with (4,0) supersymmetry.
