A minimalistic pure spinor sigma-model in AdS

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2018
The b-ghost of the pure spinor formalism in a general curved background is not holomorphic. For such theories, the construction of the string measure requires the knowledge of the action of diffeomorphisms on the BV phase space.

On the Spectrum of Superspheres [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Sigma models on coset superspaces, such as odd dimensional superspheres, play an important role in physics and in particular the AdS/CFT correspondence. In this work we apply recent general results on the spectrum of coset space models and on supergroup ...

Tropological sigma models

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
Abstract With the use of mathematical techniques of tropical geometry, it was shown by Mikhalkin some twenty years ago that certain Gromov-Witten invariants associated with topological quantum field theories of pseudoholomorphic maps can be computed by going to the tropical limit of the geometries in question.

Ablation of LRP6 in alpha‐smooth muscle actin‐expressing cells abrogates lung inflammation and fibrosis upon bleomycin‐induced lung injury

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Low‐density lipoprotein receptor‐related protein 6 (LRP6) is a key receptor for the Wnt antagonist Dickkopf1 (DKK1). DKK1 protein expression is induced in a bleomycin (BLM)‐induced lung injury model. We show that DKK1 induces proinflammatory and profibrotic genes in lung fibroblasts.

Combined constraints on modified Chaplygin gas model from cosmological observed data: Markov Chain Monte Carlo approach

open access: yes, 2011
We use the Markov Chain Monte Carlo method to investigate a global constraints on the modified Chaplygin gas (MCG) model as the unification of dark matter and dark energy from the latest observational data: the Union2 dataset of type supernovae Ia (SNIa),

Topological sigma models [PDF]

open access: yesCommunications in Mathematical Physics, 1988
A variant of the usual supersymmetric nonlinear sigma model is described, governing maps from a Riemann surfaceΣ to an arbitrary almost complex manifoldM. It possesses a fermionic BRST-like symmetry, conserved for arbitraryΣ, and obeyingQ 2=0. In a suitable version, the quantum ground states are the 1+1 dimensional Floer groups.

Taurine promotes glucagon‐like peptide‐1 secretion in enteroendocrine L cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Taurine, a sulfur‐containing amino acid, is likely taken up by enteroendocrine L cells via the taurine transporter. This process increases the levels of cytosolic ATP. The increase in intracellular Ca2+ concentrations and glucagon‐like peptide‐1 secretion through membrane depolarization is caused by the closure of ATP‐sensitive potassium channels ...

Spherically-symmetric non-linear sigma model: the exact solutions obtained with isometrical embedding method

open access: yesVestnik Samarskogo Gosudarstvennogo Tehničeskogo Universiteta. Seriâ: Fiziko-Matematičeskie Nauki, 2011
The method to generate exact cosmological solutions in the frame of the spherically-symmetric non-linear sigma model offered in the present paper. This method is based on the isometrical embeddings of the target space (non-linear sigma-model fields ...

Structural Analysis of Bacillus subtilis Sigma Factors

open access: yesMicroorganisms, 2023
Bacteria use an array of sigma factors to regulate gene expression during different stages of their life cycles. Full-length, atomic-level structures of sigma factors have been challenging to obtain experimentally as a result of their many regions of ...
