Reduced vascular leakage correlates with breast carcinoma T regulatory cell infiltration but not with metastatic propensity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A mouse model for vascular normalization and a human breast cancer cohort were studied to understand the relationship between vascular leakage and tumor immune suppression. For this, endothelial and immune cell RNAseq, staining for vascular function, and immune cell profiling were employed.

Nonsmoothing in a single conservation law with memory

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2001
It is shown that, provided the nonlinearity $sigma$ is strictly convex, a discontinuity in the initial value $u_0(x)$ of the solution of the equation $$ {partial over partial t} Big( u(t,x) + int_0^t k(t-s) (u(s,x)-u_0(x)),ds Big) + sigma(u)_x(t,x) = 0, $

Improving PARP inhibitor efficacy in bladder cancer without genetic BRCAness by combination with PLX51107

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Clinical trials on PARP inhibitors in urothelial carcinoma (UC) showed limited efficacy and a lack of predictive biomarkers. We propose SLFN5, SLFN11, and OAS1 as UC‐specific response predictors. We suggest Talazoparib as the better PARP inhibitor for UC than Olaparib.

Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.

Optimal bilinear control for Gross-Pitaevskii equations with singular potentials

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2019
We study the optimal bilinear control problem of the generalized Gross-Pitaevskii equation $$ i\partial_{t}u=-\Delta u+U(x)u+\phi(t)\frac{1}{|x|^{\alpha}}u +\lambda|u|^{2\sigma}u,\quad x\in \mathbb{R}^3, $$ where U(x) is the given external ...

Class IIa HDACs forced degradation allows resensitization of oxaliplatin‐resistant FBXW7‐mutated colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
HDAC4 is degraded by the E3 ligase FBXW7. In colorectal cancer, FBXW7 mutations prevent HDAC4 degradation, leading to oxaliplatin resistance. Forced degradation of HDAC4 using a PROTAC compound restores drug sensitivity by resetting the super‐enhancer landscape, reprogramming the epigenetic state of FBXW7‐mutated cells to resemble oxaliplatin ...

On backward Kolmogorov equation related to CIR process

open access: yesModern Stochastics: Theory and Applications, 2018
We consider the existence of a classical smooth solution to the backward Kolmogorov equation \[ \left\{\begin{array}{l@{\hskip10.0pt}l}\partial _{t}u(t,x)=Au(t,x),\hspace{1em}& x\ge 0,\hspace{2.5pt}t\in [0,T],\\{} u(0,x)=f(x),\hspace{1em}& x\ge 0,\end ...
